Crazy… the river in my city will probably hit the highest throughput of water ever this evening, due to the water from belgium and germany coming this way. The shores are designed to mitigate flooding since it last flooded in the 90’s but as its looking now it will be very close. luckely the zone where I live is above the level of danger.
My CNC is still at my parent’s place, which is on higher ground too so the chance of a flood is not likely. But there is still the fear that it might happen somehow.

Yeah, it happens faster than most think. There was a dude a few days ago who wanted to get some cigarettes with his car, nothing out of the ordinary and then he got hit with the flood and was stuck in his car. Had to be saved by the firefighters.

Yes, well luckely the critical components start from 30 cm up from the ground 
If it floods that much in my parents town, the whole province would probably be fucked.
I also heard it floods super fast like you mention, people saw some drops coming through a wall and just a minute later a meter of water rushed into the house.
