Problem with Slick Revolution/iWonder Cloud Wheels (SERIOUS)

who are people gonna sue? just curious have there been any united states based businesses selling these wheels?

poor dex has to go through extra testing and forego selling some sketchy products because he doesn’t want to live in his car with his kids, while laywers sell his house to pay their bills

I sent Iwonder an email to let them know my replacement wheels failed. They did not comment back. I just followed up for comments via email.

There is still no movement on the tracking number of the Discovery set I bought for 70 bucks…

This I think is a positive sign.
The old style says sold out in their website.

I believe it was still showing available the other day.

If I’m not out of order, I believe the Skullboard wheels

were the “bacon strips” am I not correct @BillGordon?
the ones posted above…

I have not used, but look similar to the ones I purchased with my eLofty… the Lofty ones are much better and quite acceptable… I like 'em… the skullboard wheels are simply awful!

Actually, I believe these are “bacon strips” because of the weird tread:

Yes, the two black options were in stock/available for purchase just a few days ago. If this is them pulling them from the market because of the concerns raised, it’s a good faith gesture for sure.

So do you guys think we can trust the new Discovery core?
I mean they obviously didn’t test the old core so it may be a little premature to just in the wagon…
Even if those 105 are quite tempting

@Hide has been MIA too. No thoughts @Hide?

Good faith by going out of stock. But still in denial. New discovery wheel or not, im def not gonna be getting a new set with the way they(iwonder) have handled all of this

We’re talking behind the scenes in a PM, and I like the direction things are headed. Will update when something more concrete takes place.

1: RS can’t send us the broken wheels now. We can’t confirm the reason 100% at present. So before that, I believe that any companies that has the responsibility will not talk casually. This is why the reason for the conclusion has not been given.
2: About Cloudwheel Discovery version, since our earliest customized version for the customers are thickier spokes, until now no problems have occurred, and we used a higher strength composite material for wheel core, so we believe they should not have similar problems like before (of course, we will also send samples to Bill to let them test)
3: If there are any crack issues happen on your Cloudwheel, please contact our after-sales email directly, we will provide after-sales service

I have a pull down rig I made for testing the new SRB wheel. If you want, send me a wheel and I’ll load it 70lbs and spin it to that ever speed and distance you think would qualify these as being OK for general use. Video and surface Temps documented. https://www.instagram.com/p/B92Jy-dJBLa/?igshid=1f4cldixtknu4

aren’t the discovery cores transparent or am I missing something?

*or are the pictures not from the written post?

do you have a pic of the pull-down part of the test rig?

is that 70lbs of force loaded onto just the test wheel, or is a portion of the load borne by the other three wheels?

i wonder (no pun intended) how much force is applied to the front wheel on the inside of the corner as your racers go uphill…

Yeah. I have no idea. Seen that on fb n thought I’d share :man_shrugging:t2:

Those were an in-between fix. Black plastic. Thicker core.
Newer discovery is clear plastic. Thicker core.

I’m looking to @Hide for more comments on the composition and make of the clear plastic.

Another missed opportunity by boosted when they released their 105mm wheels. Bigger pulleys make sense.

I can dial the weight on a single wheel.
65-70lb load per single wheel is the baseline I have been using for tests and measures.
