I only took the drivetrain apart for now to make sure it’s all tight. I have a fesc 6.6 mini here…does it take 13s? lol
Every ESC takes 13s, most of them only once.
/s
It’s a 6.6, one of the most concerning things about vesc 4 is that when you run certain kv motors over a certain ERPM, the DRV can’t keep up and gets fried (in theory)
The v6 vescs tend to have higher ERPM tolerance, and better high voltage tolerance from what I’ve heard.
You might be able to do 13s, but I don’t know if I’d recommend it or not, some of the components are still only rated for 60v I think
Nice! Have you ridden it yet?
Wondering how the TKPs feel… are they as magical as Scott D. says they are? =D
Scott seemed to think motors + drive train were nice and quiet. What do you think?
How many teeth does the wheel pulley have? 44?
ride tonight?
if i’m home yes…
if not i think i’m free tomorrow for the event.
Oh yeah did u gotta come
not yet…but i checked the drivetrain just to be sure.
comes with 44T, but I replaced it with a 45T i have sitting here.
Have fun on your first run!
The board has a good ride feel. I’m a lightweight so I ordered softer bushings from Riptide. First impression…very stable! The deck concave gave my feel a great place to carve nicely. I thought the stiff deck will give a harsh ride but it’s not bad at all.
The bad…the acceleration and braking is still lacking imo. But for a board with a hobbywing ESC, it’s pretty good. I was expecting a decent punch off the line, but it does get to speed quite effortlessly. Let me say this…it’s not an Evolve killer if you compare to the power, but the platform imo is superior to Evolve. A VESC will turn this into a beast.
I put a fesc 6.6 into the Ownboard Bamboo and it transformed it into a totally different board. All this board needs is more motor current. I assume these 6374s are only getting 40a motor current.
I"m also used to running my Lonestar at 90a per motor.
Can you speak more about how the board carves? Does it carve better than RKP as ScottD noted? How does it compare to DKP?
I do need softer bushings, but it does carve pretty well. I think it’s better the RKP.
It’s surprisingly stable. Easily hit over 30mph multiple times first day out.
if u ever vesc it, let us know how it goes
here’s my first impression of the Zeus
big thanks to @EDness for bringing the zeus out for everyone to try.
also big thanks to @jack.luis for helping set up this event
damn, it sounds quieter compare to other belt drive prebuilt boards
Oh yeah it’s quiet, especially to what I ride.
Nice Has ownboard implemented the turbo mode yet/or mode 4?
I also really like the sounds of the board!
Yep, I was doing the test on turbo. Triple clicking the button enables it.
I’ve never felt like the phrase RIP headphone users was more appropriate
Lmao same but still useful
