can´t you just 3D print your own yellow case? shouldn´t be an issue if you have a 3D printer or somebody to print for you.
Smaller would not be possible as the PCB size is the limiting factor, but as I understood the future dong might be a bit smaller (actually don´t know how much, but…), so maybe that´s the way to go for your friend.
