Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

When searching for buck with a LiFePo4 battery, if your battery is let’s say 16s will a buck meant for 14s li-ion work?
@b264

For Europe idk, but you can get Amass XT60s on Amazon.

@frame would chip board work for a riser
i will coat in order to make water resistant

I guess if you don’t have a huge pile of risers and are not doing extreme stuff, non metal will mostly work. But yeah, better safe than sorry, so ignore me…

I dont know what will be better. This one has the most reviews https://www.amazon.nl/AUTOUTLET-mannelijke-vrouwelijke-netstekker-warmtekrimp/dp/B07C3R5W31/ref=sr_1_11?__mk_nl_NL=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=xt60&qid=1618252900&sr=8-11&th=1

and this one says its a real amass https://www.amazon.nl/behuizing-connector-batterij-ontladen-terminal/dp/B07919398L/ref=sr_1_2?__mk_nl_NL=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&dchild=1&keywords=amass+xt60&qid=1618254611&sr=8-2

This one. Always go genuine.

thx!

don’t think so, those can break under stress

I’m gonna take a guess you did some “experiments” that lead to being sued.

i don’t think that’s something you should ask publicly :slightly_smiling_face:
in The Lounge would be more appropriate at least

I’m still new to this. Eventually I’ll get the run around.

prob gonna do extreme stuff…
def dont want something breaking under a truck and flinging me off mid ride. i dont have access to metal working so cant make a metal riser. was going to make out of wood but i have to get a pice

@athrx you dont by any chance have? (think you work for some construction thing?)

Yes because 16 x 3.65V = 58.4V and 14 x 4.2V = 58.8V

Wood? Got more pallets to throw away than there is space in the skip. May be able to find some offcuts of 2x4 lengths as well, but no promises

I also got some plastic angled risers if you’d like

Also got aluminium profiles for balconies… theoretically could work for risers but they’re pretty… extreme lol

metal is best
wood is good too

I mentioned aluminium last because it doesn’t really fit nicely. Plus, it will be metal on metal

The base rails are a bit over an inch thick

Still, why the fuck an inch riser? That will be really unstable

otherwise my motors scrape the enclosure on hard turns
i know its really annoying but due to angles of the deck i can only get rid of risers if i can somehow extend my wheelbase.

if you have some strong wood which wont crack and could give me a couple bits that would be perfect

It’s average timber you find at any constuction shop. Won’t last in esk8 use forever and frankly looks like shit on any non-utilitarian use.
Put a pic here with how they touch the deck. You probably don’t need more than 1cm riser and even that is much.
