I haven’t tried the mini-foc yet, but I’m guessing it would struggle at 75A. With a heatsink maybe, but to be safe go with the DV6 instead.
Thanks!
V6 can support higher ERPM (150k instead of the V4’s 60k), and with some motors you can sense a lack of torque at around 75% duty cycle on V4, which isn’t present on V6. But top speed capabilities should be the same, all things equal.
actually after all the research i made, it seems tax and customs actually will make me choose the stormcore 60d…
the unity / xenith and dv6 come in at around 270€ delivered , while the stormcore will “only” be 340 and seems to have the best heatsink solution
With the setup i have the ERPM aparrenlty sits at 25k so it shouldn’t matter wether I use v4 or v6 in that regard?
V4 is 60k max if I recall. Just had a conversation with someone about that too.
No, since your max eprm isn’t higher than V4s limits.
Do i need a heatsink for a dual drive setup?
Anything that will pull a lot of power will need something to keep it from over heating. Escs definitely needs it, even if it’s single drive.
Don’t be like me trying to run dual drive without heatsink. You’ll hate the experience.
Any one experience with the roger bros foot stops which one is best out of these two for the back position.
“best” is a very loosely defined word.
It all depends on what you want, how you ride, what you’re doing, et cetera.
If your board will be ridden by regular and goofy footed riders, then the top one would be much better, et cetera.
That’s just one example.
What wheels you have – and whether foot bite is a thing – is another thing to ponder.
Both of them can be adjusted for goofy or normal I ride normal.
I have 155mm pneumatics atm but also TB130s.
Just wanted the added support as the roads are quite bumpy and what to be able to lock in when going fast.
I’m not looking to drill a hold in my enclosure, but could I get by would a thermal plate if some sorts. Im not familiar with any of this heatsink stuff
He’s awesome with warranty too. Had a issue with one of my dv4 he sorted it out.
Single drive is much more susceptible to this than dual drive.
I feel like simply turning down your settings (bat max) could make your experience much better in this regard. Max-out motor max and turn down bat max.
Depends on how well the ESC case itself acts as a heat-sink, and what type of board you have. If you have a mountain board and you’re using something like a xenith – probably yeah, you should have one. If you have a urethane board with something like a stormcore – naaaaah, you’ll be fine
Oh it was a cheap esc lol. Don’t worry about that.
Heatsink is to just keep it from overheating if you’re using something of higher current. You don’t need to like make any holes. You could use thermal paste or metal plate to keep it cool.
Without holes to outside air, it’s not a heatsink, it’s a thermal mass. Both are great, albeit in slightly different ways.
