Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

If anything is plugged into either of the UART ports, the issue begins.

I have RX to RX and TX to TX, and that’s correct according to the VX1’s manual. I also tried multiple receivers and a bluetooth module

What FW are you trying? Does the problem persist if you disable UART on the ESC before plugging something into it?

Have you checked the connections? From BT reciever to the BMS and so forth.

FW 5.1, I haven’t tried disabling UART though. I will try it tonight.

Any recommended HTD5M belt suppliers for E.U/UK?..Nexus is out of what i need. China is fine, dont mind waiting

thanks…bit pricey, but i guess beggers can’t be choosy

Checked everything. Blue/red led’s turn on for less than a milisecond very dim when i plug the balance leads and that’s it, nothing happens after.
It’s weird because i just checked what my battery was doing this afternoon before leaving work. 22km later, deadso

Powge on AliExpress.

thanks. do i need to be aware of how many teeth the belts have? like will an odd number of teeth not work on a certain gear-ratio, or something similar?

Maybe its just dead, there are replacements on aliexpress though. Most receivers are kinda susceptible to vibrations, you’re always better off if you put them in bubble wrap before bolting the enclosure on.

No, just make sure it’s HTD5, and stay away from 14T and below motor pulleys.

I use keilriemen24.eu. They have all lengths and width you could imagine. Idk if they have a english version of the site though. If not, use google translate for websites.

Thanks man, I’ll check them out :+1:

Check trampa as well. That site is chaos on mobile but they got quite a few belt sizes below and over 400mm

Some have reported slippage on 13T and even 14T. Could be that you’re just dialing in your tension really well.

lol yeah belt tensioning is always the most time consuming step while assembling the drivetrain for me lol. Its really difficult to get it juuuust right, especially if the motors cant move and you have to move the whole mount.
