Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

Do you know how fast this actually is lol

What’s the fastest you’ve gone? You definitely don’t want to cheap on a helmet

Also you want a visor lol the wind is way to much even at like 30

If you don’t get a visor i’d suggest wearing glasses cause the last thing you want is debris blinding you at 40mph

I haven’t used any of their gear, but assuming you can afford it all, then their hoodies and pants.

Also consider some moto gloves at that point lol

Gone 39mph before and I wore cycling goggles

A lot of my equipment comes from cycling cause I’ve gone over 40mph on my bike before so need goggles eitherway

The visor just makes me feel weird

Gloves are def

Are the pants that important? And the hoodie makes more sense to me

IIRC hip/knee injuries are more common than you think. Plus more protection couldn’t hurt

I guess
Don’t wanna cheap out but can’t be bothered having to change every time I wanna go out maybe a hoodie helmet and gloves but can’t be bothered with anything more

Hope you’re not bothered when your skin comes off lol /s

i don’t even have a street where i could hold 40mph for longer than 10 seconds that is not sketchy.

Ah sorry maybe I worded it wrong when I said hovering at 40mph I meant max average speeds of 30-35mph

ultimately its up to you, im not gonna mom you into getting all the safety gear you need. Just use some sense when youre picking out things for your needs

You should youtube some motor cycle crashes.or slides at 50-60 and rethink your situation. You may not break a bone but road rash is very annoying

Yeah gonna slowly invest in the full gear is my new decision can’t afford it all at once so will get bit by bit

Lol me either, I top out at 34 on anything near here. Still haven’t found a street where I can hit 36 like that one time in Santa Monica

I have yet to come across a road by me in Chicago where I can realistically go over 28ish on thane :sleepy:

I don’t think he realizes how hard it is to average that lol

Yea our boards are easily capable of those speeds. The riding conditions (road, pedestrians, speed bumps) are what limit most of us. Cali roads suck dick

my 33mph record was done on a single (tiny) lane road that has a dead end with no cars at night (3am), and i also had to draw out circles and lines using chalk to indicate where are the potholes, manholes to avoid them.

now i think about it, roads here in HK is pathetic :joy:
