Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

Ehhh, screen remotes are still pretty meh.

Although later this year (company shilling ahead), the FreeSK8 remote will be out.

After this, im wondering what’s stopping me from just spending $300 on 100mm meepo hubs and not going through all of this

Truth? Nothing. They will get the job done and last a good fair while. Just don’t ever ride a better board. The difference will haunt you.

actually the poor road quality is stopping me

My first sort of real board was a Meepo V1. Had fun with it, still works if I put back together.

Achilles heel of hub motors.

Or pay $600 and get a Meepo V3 complete

I omitted this option a while ago because it has to be something that I at least partially make. I wouldve done this from the beginning if not for this one crucial requirement

For the remote I’ll probably get a flipsky vx2 as they arent too expensive… One of the last things I have to ask is if it matters whether I get the vesc6 or vesc4 version

@Evwan this. Absolutely this.

Get the VESC 4 version, alternatively you can get a VX1

yeah, the vesc4 vx2 costs more because it has to ship from china, so vx1 it is.

What enclosure is that and how does it bolt on? Looks really good…
Also you seem to have the older type with narrower routing

well it seems either way it’s complicated because for a dual vesc I need another reciever

unless im misunderstanding this

Nah a dual ESC has a CAN connection inside, as long as you connect to the master side and configure the other as the slave side it’s fine

Once you have the ESC and motors on hand I can walk you through the VESC Tool over Discord

Socket head screws and aluminium fender washers, like this:

Enclosure is a DIY effort

How much are the motors converted to bullets and a loop key going to run me?
