Motor Amps is your low end torque, Battery Amps is your high end torque. Depending on your gear ratios and wheel size, you might not be able to make enough torque without cooking your motors or VESC. Do your motors/VESC get really hot during normal use?
Alright. I messed with some settings and it feels better. But this 400 figure seems weird. I definitely didn’t set it like this.
You running no_limits_fw? Normally the maximum value you can set for max current is 160A (when the current shunts saturate) so you may have some weird integer fuckery going on, if you can afford the time I would reinstall the firmware for both VESCs.
Setting Absolute Maximum Current above that just hands control to the DRV, it’s fine.
35E cell in a 5P configuration isn’t a great choice for esk8.
What is your “battery max” set at? You probably want to keep that at 25A max, or 13A per side in a dual. If it’s set above this, it can cause that problem as well as reduce battery lifetime.
25a is exactly what i have my batt max at👍 my motor max is 80a. All the other settings are pretty conservative.
How old is the battery? Was it used previously at higher currents?
I don’t know the answer to either of those questions. I got it off someone on the forum. He guessed about 25-30 cycles
It shouldn’t be no limit.
I have no clue where the number came from
So I’m good?
Yeah
Hi all my board setting as following
single drive focbox 1.6
10s5p with haggy 6364 motor
15/60
Bergmeister hub with clever tyre
If I want to increase my torque
What replacement is lowest cost
Change bigger motor
Pulley ratio
What are your vesc tool settings for battery amps and motor amps?
What cells in the 10s5p?
You can bump up Motor Max in 5A increments (try 65A, 70A, 75A), but make sure the motor doesn’t get too hot.
You could also bump up the Battery Max to 40-45A (preferably around 60A if possible) if your battery can handle it.
If you need more torque, the easiest solution would be to go dual drive.
Accelerate is ok for me. I want to increase brake torque.decrease the motor min right?
-55 -60a ?
For better brakes make the Min values more negative, e.g.
Battery Max: 30A
Battery Min: -20A
Motor Max: 60A
Motor Min: -60A
Give us more information about this battery.
Yes so far you can probably increase the motor currents but if you still need more torque you can start by increasing the motor size to a 6380 or 6384. That’s probably the most bang for buck. Depending on what battery and cells you have, of course.
I hope its not a diyeboard 10s5p pack.
