Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

yes everything in metr is set correct. the VESC tool shows the same sag.

Then I agree with @glyphiks looks like a lot more than is normal.

for the motor settings is it total or should each ESC have 43A

Are you using unity FW or vesc FW?

VESC FW 5.1

Then your settings per ESC should be something like 22.5 battery amps and 21.5 motor amps if you want 45 and 43 total.

Personally, I would run 20a battery and about 30a motor per vesc.

I would run that battery at

Max Battery 30A one motor, 15A x 2 dual motor
Voltage cutoff

start 36V
end 33V

Post your actual metr log

shyyt… I have 43A set for each ESC so the total would be 86A motor

Motor amps arent a big deal. Its the battery amps that might give you grief.

Your metr log would be very helpful in analyzing this.

hmmm for some reason when i try to upload my log it just hangs. my battery is set to 22.5A per ESC though

I had to reinstall the metr app I just lost all my logs. I’ll have to record again tomorrow.

I’d expect a volt or two of sag, maybe a handful at full load (45A/side). I’d guess maybe you’ve got a bad connection somewhere between the cells and the ESC.

A loop key that isn’t fully inserted can cause this. Make sure it’s fully inserted all the way. It may take some effort to fully seat.
Another potential cause would be poor/cold solder joints.

What are those little screws I see people use to fit the enclosure onto the deck? They’re not regular screws, but have neat system whereby there is a kind of nut embedded in the deck…any ideas?

Cloud wheels have a different core, so you’d need to buy new wheel pulleys to use them with that board. If you’re already using cloud wheels, then you already have pulleys for them I assume

Is it a bad idea to run a flat deck with TB218s and 97 wheels? I don’t really like the look of drop downs but don’t want to end up with a failed build
