Noob question thread! 2020_Summer

Awesome, I got lucky, these weights came with rounded edges and a powder coat already

I haven’t gotten around to balancing my wheels, I think I’m going to use weighted tape.

Ooh that’s neat, if I didn’t already get the steel ones I’d go for that

Doesn’t work, the weight prevents the bead from sitting :sob:

Booooooooooo. What hubs are you using?

Rockstar II, the weight is wide enough that it covers the entire half rim where the tire sits

Would need to be super skinny to work, might be okay with the tape if you slice it thin, only need 0.5oz if it’s on the outside edge of the hubs

Maybe I stick it to the inside of the tire?

Hmmm… Behind the spokes would be the next stealthiest method.

Yeah or that lolol

Yeah that’s the one I’m checking now, it takes 3x 0.25oz but it’s not quite right still

There’s always the beads route! Honestly though, steel weights take up too much room. Lead for the win.

These are 19mm x 16mm x 4mm

Mine were used from 2019 onwards.

Was driving home lol. I think inside the tire sounds like the best option. On the side wall specifically, I’d be concerned with a hard object being between my contact patch and the tube.

Lol, they are going to be between the side wall and tube, I’m just getting the alignment with it on the outside
