Also. Seeing they made the board bigger in every direction and 12s probably had something do to with the fact that half the guys buying these are big guys. If you want acceleration and decent top speed when you’re well over 200lb you need 12s.
I’m not big nor heavy but I sure like shine shit. Lacroix is just one of those boards you must have Prototipo 10s is great but it gets even better on 12s. Now. I already own a 12s but who can say no to those specs on the Nazare. Personally I feel like you get good bang for your buck
One thing for sure is shorts, skinny legs and Lacroix don’t mix well. Y’all look funny if you try to put those three together
Lmao. My bad. Don’t forget to add me to that list brother I too have some sexy ass legs
Just want to confirm my understanding. The internal voltage of individual cells and therefore the cutoff settings are the same regardless if it’s a 10s or 12s system, however because the 12s supplies a higher total “average” voltage to the ESC/Motors it can achieve a certain wattage (Power = current * voltage) drawing less current and hence there is less battery sag? Is this correct?
Bingo. At any set power level, 12s will use less Amps than 10s.
Shit! somebody finally figured out why i’ve been building on 12S since i started.
How about being 6’8" and skinny, yet still 200lb ? (Like me)
I ride 10s but never feel underpowered. I guess if I was American I’d be 250lb+…
I am 140 pounds butt naked. I wish I had a smaller penis. would put me around 100 pounds dead on.
An example where 10S6P has less sag than 12S5P at 1200watts power
@gmurad, @Venom121212 and @longhairedboy, I was curious about it so decided to work it out. Seems like they are pretty comparable. Unless I made a mistake somewhere. On my phone have to double check when I get to work.
Say you have 60 cells. You can either make pack1:10s6p or pack2: 12s5p. The IR of each cell is the same, say 20milliohms(from 30Q datasheet)and the voltage of each cell is at 4 volts
Now say both the setups are consuming 1200 watts of power. Let current in pack1 and pack2 be i1 and i2 respectively.
Current per cell in pack1: i1/6
Current per cell in pack2:i2/5
Voltage sag total in pack1: 10*(4-0.02i1/6)
Voltage sag total in pack2: 12*(4-0.02i2/5)
Power given of by both the packs are the same
10*(4-0.02i1/6)*i1 =1200
12*(4-0.02i2/5)*i2=1200
Solving the quadratic equation(solve easily on Wolfram alpha) gives i1 and i2 and then you can find the sag in each one of them. Ideally you would plot the sag over different power.
Solving I get:
Current: i1:30.79amps and i2:25.65amps
Current per cell: 5.131amps and 5.13amps
Voltage: v1: 38.97 and v2: 46.76
Sag: 10*4-38.97 = 1.03 volts and 12*4-46.76=1.24 volts
So blanket statement like there is more sag is 10S, assuming the same total capacity, is not true. I gave 1 realistic example that shows the opposite.
I would stick to 10S so as not to cause issues with cheaper ESC.
Suck it dude… You look funny.
If you were in charge we would still be rocking a horse and buggy.
I am kidding, sorta.
It is natural progression. The 10s system is a lot of fun! Until you want more. More range, more speed, more power. More efficiently.
It isn’t for everyone, no freggin doubt. But man, if you use it how it was intended (long adventures, long commutes), it is a whole new horizon.
Think about the Lacroix buggy.
A cart you can easily quick disconnect that you tow behind your board. 20 mile out plus camping trips. Take solar panels. Drink beer and recharge. Pull your camping kit from the buggy. Pass out because you drank 2 nights worth of beer in 3 hours.
Ride 15 miles to the nearest dump gas station to restock on beer and beef jerky.
Head back out to the wilderness.
Pure fucking bliss. Not possible until now.
We have to think differently about what we use these monsters for!
That math holds true. My statement was comparing a 10sXp and 12sXp.
I like your style
… use backup satellite phone to call for help when you find that a Sasquatch stole your board, cause he gonna want it. Then use BKB board finder app to find where Bigfoot actually lives and has been hiding all these years. Bring keg to make friends with Bigfoot, and peer pressure him to drink until he passes out. Draw dick pics on hairy Sasquatch face, and take drunken passed out selfies. Take back board while passed out, return to town, sell pics for $$$, buy second LaCroix, tow back to Bigfoot lair with solar panels and more beer, party and ride with new ESk8 buddy and BBFFF (Best BigFoot Friend Forever) THE END
Thats the best thing I heard today!
I heard they are remaking Deliverance, could easily make a LaCroix product placement, but no replacing Burt, RIP Smokey
Damn that was a ride, from start to end
