My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

Spring is in the air and I am sprinkling rides left and right.

Going back a few days.
I finally got out on the Demonseed with the Razillian Trucks set up as TKP with the Akashas.

And it is really good like this.
It is super low and super playful.
And I just can’t help but love these tiny wheels.

I wish I already had the battery upgrade in here…
But that will come.

The Gravel Boi is getting a ton of action.

I definitely have felt like riding it more than the Gravel Flux, that is more boaty feeling.
And it is what I grab since the Flux is out of commission.

This night ride would have been a Flux ride if it was good to go.

Mondays lunch break ride was on the Llama.
Now new and improved with the Z-mote.

What a great set up. And the MAD wheels are such a good fit here.
I like the Akashas way better than the MADs for the Demonseed.
But here on the Llama the MADs just fill me with confidence for carving hard.

After school pick up I played around on the ATV Ditch Life a little bit.
Which I need to do more of… Such a cool board.

Monday evening I went Onewheeling with my buddy Drew and we went on the gnarly mtb trails.
Here we are laughing about how if our board fell off the trail it’s about 60 feet down to the creek…

It’s just so freaking cool riding Onewheels in trails…

It sucks so freaking much carrying Onewheels on trails…

So we keep going and we run into 2 dudes riding EUCs.

This is wild and crazy around here.
So we all go ride together.
And it was awesome !!!

More group rides to come I hope.

Drew’s XR battery died and I came back on the Gravel Boi with the Pint x for a rescue mission!!!

Not bad for a Monday after vacation…

Tuesday at lunch I wanted to take the Gravel Boi the MTB trails.

I changed the bushing set up to see if I could navigate the single tracks better.

From orange to white in the front.

And I put the orange back in the inner position from the outer position.

There were plenty of spots I struggled with. But I think the change made it way better. And I didn’t kill myself on the road with the extra loose trucks so that is a win.

These trails are really cool.
It’s a bunch more exercise than riding on the road.

I do wish I had someone to ride esk8s with me on them…

The after school pick session was on the Demonseed.

Second ride on this set up. And I liked it even better than the first ride.

I can go round and round on these tennis courts forever…

And catching up to today.

Drastically colder.
86 yesterday. 50 today…

Started the morning with a brisk warm up on the GT.

Lunch break ride was on none other than the current darling the Gravel Boi.

And I did change the bushings again.
Put oranges back up front.
And whites on the outside in the back.
kudos to @mbs for making changing the bushings so easy. Even the back that I had to change position. Easy breezy with my wera key…

So this is a new configuration for me.
I had oranges on the Outside in the back before.
And this new set up with orange/inner front and whit/ outside rear may be what I stick with.
I had It a bit looser than before and had no scary stuff happen.
So yey.

I don’t mention it or post pictures always.
But school pick up is now done almost 100% on the Gravel Flux.
Talk about living the dream.
Favorite part of my day.

And today’s post pick up session was on the Rally Cat.
Just a mellow carvy cruise.

Once again thank all the gods for Akashas!!

That’s so cool. I would have loved this as a kid.

And the back of the trailer is filled with snacks like cookies and fruit snacks and apple sauce…

So awesome. And good to know you might have found your happy place with respect to shockblock hardnesses and positions.

The breathability of it is great, I would have died with anything else on when I was in Portland. That being said it’s black, so it heats up in the sun like a frying pan :skull:

Also every time I’ve fallen with it I’ve still had my skin tear and bleed, so I kinda prefer my padded hoodie instead  (The padded hoodie also shows less signs of wear)

This jacket has a chest-pad attachment available though which is really cool.

Personally I think it’s overpriced for what it is, but maybe I’m just used to sweat-shop pricing :person_shrugging:

I fucking hate this DV6P and I am close to slapping a Unity in here.

Such weird ass shit with trying to set up and upload firmware…

Fuck a duck…

Put 6.02 on. No good.
Put 5.03 back on.
No good.
Put 5.03 back on again…
And at the moment it seems good.

Fucking sketchy dude.

I have not had an experience like this with the Unities…

I am leaving it open for now.
Will see what fucking mood it’s in tomorrow morning.

Let’s go try this out

Well.
I went and did 20 miles.

Seemed totally normal…

The only difference I had from before when it was having motors amps at 90 instead of 95…

Sometime mid ride I wanted to jump on the App to see battery and temperature and it was taking forever to connect so I gave up and kept riding.

That was the only kinda hiccup…

When I got home I was able to connect fine and even changed motors amps to 95.

So. I am happy it worked.
It’s a great board.

I can’t help but feel somewhat uneasy.
Because it was working like this before.
And then it wasn’t.

But I guess that is esk8…

I did unplug and resolder the remote receiver.

On my way heading back through campus I saw a kid with a Meepo Voyager.

Stopped and talked to him.
Checked out the board.
Rode it a tiny bit

Super impressed with the look.
Chunky motors.

Kids are so lucky these days.

Did your DIY blow him away?

Everytime I run into an esk8er with a production board that seems to be the case

Not really. He was one of the least excited about it that I have ran into… But he was chatting with a girl…

Never cockblock another esk8er. :joy:

I rode past them standing. Saw the Meepo. Slammed on the break. Hit reverse and totally interrupted them…

I have no filter…

And now that I think about it the girl was actually super interested in my board and could not believe I built it… Lol.

I was ooggeling at the Meepo…

I tell you who did get excited.

I had my buddy Chris come over to ride boards.
Younger dude I have known for a long time that is a super talented skateboarder.

He came over with his little boy and we tooled around in front of the house.

And he was so stoked!!!

He had that grin going the whole time…

He rode the Onewheel and a bunch of the thane boards, and even the neighbors Zealot.

We may very well have a new rider here.

I think we’ve all ollied over a gap between two airplane wings, Rafael. Yawn.

:joy:

Imagine your bud racing at esk8con 2024.

On another positive note I took the Flux to pick up the car my wife left at happy hour.

It was a nice six miler.

And the Flux ran perfectly.

So maybe I can say the king is back!!!
