ok.
since getting the Pint on Tuesday the 4 wheeled devices got ignored…

but today they got some action.

Took the Tow Truck out on an epic family ride.

and I did some work on the Khymera.

cut the enclosure and installed the heat sink.

Then later on I extended the phase wires and assembled the drive train.

So it is really really close now…

just gotta put it together.

all right then.

The Khymera is alive!!!

got it all put together last night.

Khymera deck and Killshot enclosure( new thicker abs)
BN adjustable baseplates and 270mm hangers.
TB 110s.
12s4p 40T of Duck Batteries PCB with Ltt smart BMS.
Unity running 23.64, on Infinity sink.
TB 6374 190kV motors.
15/44 pulleys for supposed 35 mph top speed.
it is 34 lbs.

Took it out for a couple miles only last night and it is pretty sweet.

I wanted the giant standing platform and I wanted something different.

I think I achieved both.

first impressions with the trucks is that they do big carves well. I don’t think they will do tight turns.
I hope they don’t kill me at speed…

both baseplates are set to the fifteen degree setting. the deck is 25/35.
so sitting at 40/50.

hella risers maybe could go down a bit.
but I will probably leave it alone.

this new thicker abs enclosure was nice to work with…
I don’t expect I will break the bolt holes like I have so many times in the past.

I really like using the Infinity sink as well.
I just glued it to the enclosure.
I like how the Unity is so solid on there.

so unity is on the enclosure. and battery is on the deck…

made it work…

as always had some funny hic ups on assembly.
first I had extended the phase wires. and had routed them in the riptide tunnell riser.
when I ran the wizard it would not pick up the sensors…

so I took the wires out of the riser and they detected fine…
but then the wires were too long…
so I had to shorten them.

so when I slapped it back together I put the hanger back upside down and was to the point of bolting the enclosure before seeing the motors were to close to the deck…

so came apart again.

so I kind of put this together 3 time last night…

well. 3rd time was the charm and I took it out and it ran well.

so life is good.

Looks really nice, but that riser stack makes me nervous for the bolts, hope they’re the highest grade steel

yeah, I hope it does not try to kill me…
I don;t actually see a grade on there…
i should maybe see if they exist in these lengths

Material: Alloy Steel Class 12.9 - Extreme Strength -

I can tell u this right now, with a proper bushing setup on bn 270 ur stability will be insane. I just had a crash recently and my board was stable through the whole thing. My wheel flew off the axle due to my locknut coming loose but i didnt wobble and fall off my wheel fucked off and my board just leaned to the left then i fell and slide since i couldnt turn the board and it kept goin no problem until it lodge itself underneath a swing arm of a van. Ur belt drive gonna get ur ass killed if anything but nice build otherwise :slightly_smiling_face:.

So I have now taken the Khymera out 2 proper times.

an 18 mile mayden voyage.

and a 10 mile ride with my neighbor Benji.

and it is super good.

giant.
giant standing platform.
and the concave and pedals are really nice too…

the power delivery came out super good.

I was able to get a pretty solid 18 miles.

it has been great to ride.

today it got colt here…
below freezing type shit…
bummer.
so no riding.

but I did knock about 5-6 mm off of risers in the front and back.

also took out the soft risers and only using hard risers…

also found a good way to mount the shredlight brackets

I rode 12 miles at 3:30am today and it was juuust above freezing temperature.

You can still ride! Just layer it up, wear a scarf, and glove the front hand at least.

so…
I need to finish it. need an enclosure .

the 3d printed one was too big…

I’m going to try to shape abs to make it work…
tight spacing

You can always fiberglass over ABS also

Rode at -4C today. On pneumies it’s doable. On thane I wouldn’t risk it. Just be sure to protect that remote hand.

It’s fine on 'thane. It’s the human that needs the most protection.

And don’t charge a cold battery. If you’re riding, it will stay warm from the discharge happening. If you leave the skate outside and it cools off, let it sit inside for an hour+ before charging it.

okie dokie.

this weekend I did some work on the Loaner 2.0.

And today I got it all put together.

This is a deck swap plus for the OG Loaner.

Going from the Paragigm to the Demonseed.
I also put in a Unity and and took out the Flipsky 6.6 Dual Plus.
and I found some riptide bushings for it.

I rode it a tiny bit earlier and it seemed great.

My neighbor Benji has had the Loaner and has been riding it quite a bit.

and we have gone on a few rides together which is awesome…

the other night we were six miles into a ride and her went off a curb…
and the power button flew off…
we
found it and kept riding.

then the remote was freaking out so Benji had to Uber it…

turns out yet again the little wire for the remote receiver broke from the PCB …

so the Flipsky had to go.
I almost ordered a new Zenith for it… until it dawned on me I have 3 boards with Unities that are down…
so it was time to harvest parts…

in the spirit of my shit always breaking one of the more recent victims is the Rayne Crush.
which I had just put together again and was looking really nice…
but I think I have lost a P group in the battery.
fucking fuck.

so I took the Unity from it…

another sign of by gone times… I took the hex griptape off the Demonseed and slapped some Lucid on there…

this Demonseed was just set up as a push board… so I decided this was a better use of it.

Slapping parts together went ok…
nothing has broken yet…

I really enjoyed the way it was feeling on a short ride up the block…

I need to ride it some more.
but I’m pretty sure Benji is gonna be stoked.

The Demonseed has a good 1.5 to 2 inch more standing platform.
and the Unity seems way smoother than the Flipsky…

And since I got a board running one had to break down…

unfortunately my latest darling, the Khymera.

I go for a lunch break ride and it is 70s and sunny!!!

and after 6 miles or so something sounds funny and one of my belts skips on hard braking…

and the left motor is fucked…

so I need to take it apart…

so annoying.

I’m pretty sure I have only had motor bearings blow out at the very start of this adventure with the Metroboard…

Yikes, that looks sketchy. Glad you didn’t get hurt.

I have been very fortunate that my many many many things breaking haven’t caused me to eat it…

I even rode(limped) home with it for a couple miles…

Did a 15 miler with Benji last night.
it was super nice out.

The Loaner 2.0 did really well.
