okey dokey.
got a mock up of the Khymera going.
happy with the Lucid.
I got hella risers going to avoid wheel bite…
could probably be a bit lower but I think I will rock these.
I think it will sit higher than then Llama which is pretty tall…
as usual something super annoying creeped up.
I will need to extend the motor phase wires…
too short “need 2 or 3 more inches”…

Huge bummer on the wheel bite. What part of the deck would need to be trimmed to reduce bite. I’m assuming it’s just the front wheels that are biting?
Welp.
The wife said ok and I sent it!
OneWheel Pint X on the way.
that bit more range and speed and saying in stock really did it for me.

send it bro.
my tracking is live and it gets here Tuesday.
and I ordered some Float Life accessories to slap on there…
I can almost already feel the pain from slamming on it!!!
I have mostly had pretty good luck using these old Bkb mounts on the Boardnamics hangers…
but they are not a correct fit so I have shimmed usually using small washers.
I think in total I have 8 of these mounts on boards…
but I have been getting some coming loose…
both sides of the Omakase came loose.
one side twice now…
yesterday was the Dinghy…
I have some nickel strips that seemed too Ridgid to use for welding…
going to try those as shims…

I feel pretty good about the way this nickel looks…
better surface area contact than the washer…
since the Dinghy was so fun I am now tackling the Omakase…
but I have to grind the area between the bolt holes… that is no fun…

I love it.
as I am tightening up the last mount I break the bolt…
so let’s start from scratch with the boardnamics mounts…
I love DIY…
oh.
yeah.
this is not the first time I have done this exact bolt break…

You need some 12.9 bolts in your life

I just can’t believe I did it a second time.
it takes some doing…

Yeah I’ve done that a couple times. With enough patience and a good thin drill bit, you can potentially get it out haha.

but all good.
Omakase is back together.
just a bit of time down the drain.
The Boardnamics mounts are more stout…
very similar size.
motors may fit a bit closer to the ground but it is pretty similar.
I hope I dont have issue with the motor wires.
that is pretty sketchy…
also can’t really move the motors much back and forth because the wires are in the way.
by a miracle I had the right size belts…
here is a bunch more pictures of me putting it together…
if I have another go with these mount I will definitely file the clamp down a little bit where the motor wires hit…
wish I had though of that earlier

Took my first ride today in the New Olders.
it is getting cool enough for a full face with visor.
it was pretty comfortable .
so I am pretty happy with it.

Today I ran into a dude that was walking…
100% my fault.
luckily he was ok.
I fell on my butt…
I was going around a blind turn onto a sidewalk and he was right there and I could not avoid him so my board hit his shin and I fell off backwards…
I glad he was ok and feel super lucky it was not a kid or a frail person…
And dude was really cool about it too…

They’d allow you to practice nose slides without catching an edge (they roll)
I may have a lightly used one for you… Maybe… Gotta see how much damage I did to it lol

They’re supposed to give you more reaction time in event of a nose-dive allowing you to roll it out. I have a brand new black one just taken out of the box if you want it.
