Nice build up.
I had a Nissan that had a golf ball dimpled hood from a Hail Storm.
Made it go faster.
Amazingly enough I don’t see anything obvious on the Mimi Van…
But that thing is well loved.
I suppose it was not the biggest hail but sure was a lot of it
The Hail which dented my Nissan’s hood was not very big either.
It was however, a good excuse to not keep it waxed and shiny and clean.
Have you had Hailstorms in Mid to late November before?
I have a really hard time paying attention to time frames. But the weather here can be very unusual…
Oh Tuesday!!!
It was a glorious day. The sun shinned and no ice fell from the sky.
I got out on the Flux for a lunch break ride.
It’s definitely looking like deep into fall out there.
Most of the trees I got naked. The green that remains is mostly an aggressive invasive called honeysuckle.
I deviated from my usual potato knish for lunch. (This was good, but I missed the pastry goodness)
I took the long way home on the gravel trails. The Flux was really fun to surf around on the leaves.
It is really wild to me how much the view changes with the seasons.
I didn’t get out a ton on Wednesday.
But I did take the DKP board to the corner store.
I really enjoy these trucks with the little tires.
And it’s good for taking into places.
Overall I’m really happy with this set up and have to pay respects to Evolve because I think it’s a really fun formula all around.
Unfortunately there is always something. And I cannot stand using the GB remote.
I hate the ergonomics so much and have to clinch it.
I have also had at least two instances where I got the brake direction backwards in my head.
This is a bigger issue that can’t be fixed by a different shape remote…
It’s gotta be a trigger for me, which is a bit limiting to be honest…
It’s Thursday Nov 20th.
We are a week out from Thanksgiving, and it makes it seem like the year just flew by…
Thanksgiving also signals colder days ahead.
Today started dark, gray, and foggy.
But really turned out not too bad for late November….
So I got out for a lunch break ride.
I taped up the top of the Dumbo Remote and plan on running it here with the 1s battery…
Feels great. Just not sure where the battery is at…which is a bit annoying .
I also like the stronger spring on the GT2B…
Before leaving I tightened the preload on the back trucks. I feel good about that.
It felt pretty sloshy even with the 96A D in the back which is weird. I wonder if it is because of the tire height or overall width…
It felt better today I think…
I am really stoked the Matrix III Singularitys set up brought excitement back to this board.
The 9inch mudpluggers are a whole vibe.
I’m excited about all this.
wiwiBoo. Today was cold and rainy.
No actual riding was done…
I just tooled around in the garage with the Onewheel.
What controller and batt do you have in that GT?
It’s the stock pack 18S2P P42A . With a Fungineers BMS.
Front has a little Foccer 3.1.
Today I woke up with a really sore back and neck…
I’m generally in very bad shape, and I think as the days get darker I move even less. And my back has been feeling it.
An easy thing to do to improve my fitness is to go on walks.
Or as I like to call it doing the caveman.
This morning I went for a walk.
It takes so much longer to cover ground…
This is why I have to own a dog at all times, forces me to get out. ![]()
That is freaking amazing! ![]()
I don’t think my old man would be wiling to go anywhere near something like that.
Monday November 24th.
It’s cold and wet and gray.
I’m still out here riding the Onewheel Fakie. @fessyfoo
I wanted to go out on my lunch break and it was misting, so the GTVX seemed like the ideal choice.
Like I said. Cold. Wet. Gray.
Campus was a ghost town since the kids are off this whole Thanksgiving week.
I’m super into these potato knishes these days…
This morning I walked to the corner grocery store.
It’s 0.8 miles there. And 0.8 back for a whopping 1.6 miles.
I’m trying to do some walking to get more movement. And I still think walking is generally a good idea and good exercise.
But man… riding to the store is so much better and cooler.
Walking it seems so far and I feel every single step.
Riding it seems so close…
It was moist and gray, but did not feel very cold. In fact on the hill up to my house I got hot( so out of shape)
I discovered they have fresh homemade tortillas there now!!! So I am going to need some more steps😁
Plugging the holes on the Newbee drive clamps.
Over the years I lost a few sets of bearings due to water getting into these drives.
It was wet out, and I wanted to go ride so I decided to plug these up.
And for the sake of simplicity I decided to just use butyl tape.
Super easy to do. Let’s see how it holds up.
It can easily be undone. I can’t see it causing any issues.
Butyl is good stuff.
