Do you remove the temperature limits on the app?
I get annoyed with the saggy power really quick…
When I raised the limits last time to 95 and 105 I thought I was going to be ok… But yesterday I was getting there.

Yep, maxed the motor cutoffs out and forgot about them long ago. I hated the sag as well.
The limits Hoyt ran on the same motors is 100 start 120 end
C’mon dude do you realize how many minutes of R&D that took me!!1??
So I got in there to look at the drives.
Everything looked good.
The inner actual bearings needed lubrication cleaning.
I also don’t think I had an ideal size spacer between the hub bearings and axle.
I go ahead and bolt everything together.
And there’s a huge difference on the bench…
So now I’m taking the slow side apart again…
I reassembled the stopping side … does not seem like anything is wrong…
Still such a difference…
Oh look.
Different motor detection…
What in the fuck
The fast rolling side is the sensorless one …
What does the Motor L thing that is so different mean?
Oh man.
I hate the inconsistent behavior.
Second Motor detection is normal…
What in the actual fuck.
Third detection comes up good.
But what is crazy is that without fixing anything else the uneven spinning stopped???
What in the fuck is Happening today???
I went and rolled on the street a bit.
Ran detection a 4th time.
Comes up good.
And yeah.
The uneven spinning situation has stopped.
I suppose I should think everything is ok…
But the weirdness makes me feel a little uneasy…
Gotta love DIY.
I’m charging up and will go ride in a bit to see what temps do …
The first sensor less run is a read error. It likely detected fine. If you look at the values, they’re all perfect to the ones place. Those are the default values for a medium out runner.
When you go into the foc tab, you’ll see the correct values.
You know.
You had told me this exact thing once before…
How about the weird spinning though dude.
So wild!!!
I really couldn’t tell ya
Wow.
A lot went down yesterday.
Daniel got Luca’s Onewheel running.
It’s really cool having someone capable work on your boards.
He unboxed the Ubox… 3D printed a bracket for it.
And put the board together and did the tuning.
Amazing.
Unfortunately he had his own DIY is a Disease moment.
While test riding the board he didn’t have the front footpad screwed down and ended up ripping the connector to the sensor pad…
Fortunately I had another foot pad around that we could harness the sensor from.
So stoked the Pint was back in action with the ubox I had on the shelf.
Days that PEVs come back to life are way better than days that PEVs die…
The EUC kids came to hang out and show me their shinny new Nosfet Apex.
It’s a bigger tire than my Patton, but it weighs the same 90 lbs.
It seemed smaller and more manageable to me than the Lynx.
I suppose if I had 4 grand to burn I wouldn’t mind adding this to the hoard …
After that I needed to ride to my wife’s work to pick up the car.
The EUC kids were going to ride along.
I decided to take the Box Turtle to see if what I did earlier helped with motor temps.
So what is interesting is that I did manage to keep motor temps down… Hooray.
What is wild however was my battery consumption!!!
I have never say anything close to that…
It was a 6 Mile ride.
And I was kind of showing off to the EUC kids.
So I punched it hard the whole time.
In a road pretty much at 30 which is the limit of the board the whole time.
I suppose I am happy I did not get hotter Motors.
I need to go on a longer more regular ride to see what happens.
I wonder if people also get to have consumption when they go on speed runs.
What’s interesting is that after this ride it made me think that I really need to jump up to a higher voltage, to go a little bit faster.
On the other hand the whole time I’m thinking what the fuck am I doing going 30.
I need to go slower.
The 7-in Evolve tires felt pretty sketchy at 30.
I actually pondered putting 8-in tires on here for better cushion.
Which would take away the low ride height that I’ve been chasing with it with a smaller tires…
But seriously.
I wonder what I’m thinking sometimes going 30 on these tiny tires…
So Luca is really crazy about riding now…
He was pretty bummed he couldn’t ride with us to get the car.
So I said we would go ride after I got back with the car
And ride we did!!!
About 7 miles, around campus.
We didn’t get home till 11.
He was vibing so hard!!!
He is fast on that thing…
And he is getting down on some bonks!!!
It was so sick!!!
My setup is much different, but I regularly cruise at 30 mph or more, and my consumption is less than half that. My board is geared to top out at around 40 mph, but I’ve never actually sat there with it completely full at the top end ever. I’ve hit 38 on it, and even though I’m pretty comfortable at 35, it gets very sketchy any higher than that right now.
