Its sitting packaged up with a label on it. Should be out tomorrow, had to work thru my lunch today. Couldn’t run out
Could you post a vid showing putting them on/taking them off? Cant really wrap my head around how the straps work. I’m a sucker for the quick release clips on the Leatts.
What about them makes them stay in place better, if you can say?
When my Leatts were new, I loved them because of how much better they stayed in place than other knee pads. But now the straps on my Leatts are pretty destroyed, and it’s very annoying. Every other part of them are totally fine so it feels lame to retire them. Maybe I’ll try to repair them somehow.
You should get these to try dude.
It you don’t love them you could send them back right…
I can make a little video.
These are nearly as easy as the quick release.
Sometimes I struggled to find the little hole, so the Oneals could be easier.
You wrap the Velcro around and slap it in place.
I think they stay better because of the weight and the elastic straps.
On my old Leatts I tried to o shorten the stretched out straps.
And it made it so they were short and right again
But the lack of elasticity make them keep moving.
The new Leatts felt way better than the old leatt and started in place better.
So I think you really need that elasticity.
These new ones are very elastic.
Taking a look at my Leatt pads this morning, I think I have an idea for how to fix them. If I go through with it I’ll let yall know how it works out.
I can try to take pictures of my fixed ones. I folded the base of the straps and held with Tesa tape. Shortening them.
If you really want to keep the Leatts sowing in new elastic straps would be the way to go.
not sure if you saw a podiatrist yet but id recommend you do it asap. I had 3 different orthotics made that helped even though i was too far gone. They can make a difference since yours is still early on. They can also teach you to the stretches needed to improve your foot so that you can continue to ride.
I have not. I need to.
I have been doing some stretching every day.
But unguided can be sketchy right
Thank you very much! That looks simple enough. If I cant fix my Leatts then I’ll probably buy these next.
On mine, the issue isnt the elastic straps themselves, it’s the wide foam straps they are joined with. The foam stretches/tears much faster than the elastic, and because the elastic is connected to the end of the foam straps, i can no longer tighten the elastic enough.
The way I’m going to try to fix it is to disconnect the elastic from the foam, and shorten the elastic. That way all the holding force will go through just the elastic. Then I’ll sew the foam loosely onto the elastic just as padding for comfort.
I’ll take lots of pics which will hopefully be more clear than this description lol. Might help someone
Not really, you wont be doing any harm, but you want to make sure you get the proper treatment.
We dont have much blood circulating in that area so healing is a slow process… Athletes get a special treatment to help healing but its expensive. I went the free route (surgery) LOL.
The sound shock wave thing…
Ai ai ai… I do need to go see a specialist I think.
The doctor I saw recommended a pretty standard set up.
Insoles for support.
NSAID to take.
NSAID gel.
Told to take it easy. And a booklet with stretchs.
Im waiting at Gymnastics and I’m stretching.
The thing is compared to the initial flare up it’s way better already.
But it’s there…
I am flirting with danger a little bit…
Today I rode the Box Turtle a little bit.
The GT a tiny bit.
The Gravel Flux for School pickup.
And the EUC a tiny bit.
That and PRP injections
I wish i did half of this when i first noticed it but you are on the right track.
I pretty much slept with something similar for a good year or 2. Before having surgery i was training for my first 5 and 10k, just started not too long ago and foot feels good. Highly recommend Hoka sneakers for non riding due to them being wide and comfortable as hell.
So you were into running?
No, it was something that i started around this time last year even with the foot issues
Yesterday was awesome!!!
I got a new deck for the little dude.
A Landyatchz Dingy shape 9.
It’s so sweet!!! Such a cool and functional shape in a small size
It was an easy deck swap onto the Lectec.
The Dinghy will be better because it has a real tail. A really good one at that.
And has shorter wheel base than the Lectec deck . It was hard for Luca to make turns on it with the long wheel base…
It really is a miniature Tayto…
This was the easiest deck swap.
I had to drill four holes using the deck as a template.
Easy breezy.
Came out so sweet…
The little dude goes crazy for it .
And the most incredible thing is within 5 minutes he does a little Ollie on it…
Incredible.
The first ride on the new set up.
