My Esk8s. A journal of sorts

Yeah Rafael!
This was easy back in time on pop sicle decks, but its not that easy with all the weight from the electrics underneath nowadays lmao.
Great feeling to just surf the bank.

I find myself thinking that more and more these days.

Wow.
So apparently it has been 2 weeks since I posted here…

Slacking…

The delay makes it harder to jump back in…

So let’s see if I can find where I was…

The beginning of November had some really nice warm temperatures.

As we got towards the middle of the month, it started to feel quite a bit cooler.

It’s a lot more fun to ride in the 50-60f (10-16c)range.
The 30-40f (1-5c) makes going out to ride a much more questionable decision.

Today for example is not going to beat 40…
So I skipped a lunch break ride, but will probably still use the Gravel Flux for school pick up.

Speaking of dealing with the cold.
I “made” a new set of heated gloves.

These are way thinner than my previous set of heated gloves.

So they don’t block the cold nearly as much.
But they are far easier to wear!!!

Been my go to on colder days.

Just a few days back I also got my first set of heated socks…

And that is interesting.
Kept my toes nice and warm.
Definitely a good move

This picture of the Flux was at my last session of Physical Therapy for my neck…

I have been kicked out and trusted to do my exercises at home…

My neck is ok… Kinda.
Not golden, not horrible.

Taking the Flux places is fun on the way there.
But sure is a pain in the ass to move it around inside a building…

I have snuck in a few more skatepark trips.
But the dark and cold are making it really hard to get out there…

I have recently decided handles are cool.

This is actually from taking boards to Physical Therapy, and having to lug them around on the Building.

I started with an Amazon Bull Bar for the Gravel Boi.

Then got a Maxfind handle for the Demonseed.

And most recently, a Backfire handle for the Gravel Flux.

I have pretty mixed feelings about how these look…

I don’t love that part…
I generally think less is more.

But the functionality is really nice.

I wish I could find a more elegant solution to put on the Flux.

The riding around has been spotty.
But I have been getting out some.

Hitting the Gravel trails on the Demonseed.

Warming up on the Patton

And something I had not done in a long time.
I got out on a leisurely ride on the Gravel Flux.

Such a fun set up to ride.

Makes me wish that Riptide would make bushings for the Matrix III…

I am going to count slapping part on the Onewheel as tinkering…

I got the New Lowboy footpads for my GT.
Since it especially hard to fight FOMO with the Onewheels…
So something shinny comes out…
Everyone says it’s cool…
I end up getting it…

In this case it was a no go for me.
I actually didn’t like the concave in the front…
I had been rocking the Flatkicks in the front.
And put them back after two days.

But don’t worry.

I ordered yet another set of footpads to try…
The Halos are coming, and I really like the ones I put on the Pint.

Having recently tinkered with the GT, along with rain made it the chosen ride through the past few days.

The GT is also my most ambitious current project.

I got the Fungineers BMS here now, so just waiting on a few more parts before I can get in there for some real action.

Mario @TheBoardGarage have you Vesced a GT by any chance?

Let me run off for school pick up.
Here is the other day when the trailer did super duty with all 3 kids.

There’s a few things that I can say about that.

If you enjoy tinkering and building instead of buying, the Ender 3 is a wonderful choice because it is 100% possible to do upgrades and tuning to make it a printer with higher quality than the p1. Based on your thread I have zero doubt you can accomplish that.

The thing about Bambulab is that their stuff just works. It is great for people who need a reliable tool out of the box. Think product sellers and designers.

If you start making products or want to print with some exotic filaments, I’d recommend an upgrade, but till then I think you are going to have a hell of a good time with the ender 3.

To add on, not the original ender 3, not in 2023. The new iterations of the ender 3 v3 are pretty damn good.

pfff no way man - it would take hundreds of dollars to get it to P1s level, and at that rate you might as well buy a p1s. If not that, an A1

My experience with the Ender so far has been nearly flawless…

But I have taken the laziest possible approach, of finding models, slicing then…
And just hitting print without messing with the settings…

I have basically made trinkets for the kids.

Which is pretty cool.
They have had a lot of excitement because of the printer…

Right now, the possible need for a Bambu seems far fetched…
But you know me…

I need to learn some tinkercad or something.

The only couple things in my radar is making a variation of the Shredlight mounts @AlexB made me for the Matrix II.

Need them for the M3s, and should be easy.

And one of these days I am going to get the new skarepark board going, so I will need a little enclosure.
Which I expect I will make a variation of @dani Tayto enclosure.

This is a much nicer ender 3 than the original ones that you can get for cheap now haha

The V3 Ender is worlds better than the Ender 3 Pro. Almost all the upgrades you’d normally do to a 3 Pro they did on the V3 stock. Good bang for the buck I’d say for sure. The A1 is cool but tiny little build plate and the whole AMS(?) system is wild looking haha
