Mtb Build recommendation

Alright guys I’m building a new mtb. I’m almost done building the 12s6p 40t pack, I just ordered the maker x dv6 pro esc. And now to decide on the rest. I’m trying to decide between the new mbs dillan warren lll deck and the apex predator deck. Full mbs build would be a lot cheaper so just trying to decide if the apex is that much better. Here is the planned build and costs.

Build #1.
Mbs pro warren lll complete $650
Parts(matrix 3 trucks, rockstar hubs, mbs tires, f5 binding, dillan warren deck)
Free shipping

Total $650

Build #2
Apex predator deck $250
Apex foot pads $70
Mbs f5 bindings $75
Shipping $100
Sub total $495

Mbs rockstar hubs $60
Mbs tires $80
Mbs tubes $52
Bearings $20
Mbs matrix 3 $240
Free shipping
Sub total $450

Buy MBS complete and sell deck. Parallel buy Haero deck. I did it and iam absolutely satisfied. Haero 2 with wide foot areas with concave is really the best You can buy now.

Adding onto this recommendation, if you’re doing this skip the DW and get the Comp 95 instead for $150 less. Same hardware, just a cheaper deck which you won’t be using anyways. The 15% off forum code helps as well.

The haero 2 is the same as the apex deck just different logos and mounting right?

I like that idea. Comp 95 makes it cheaper if I’m just reselling the deck. I think I’ll probably go that route.

What’s the code. I just bought hubs from mbs for my street board. That would have been handy lol

I don’t know if anyone’s tested it recently though. Sometimes it gets removed during a spring cleaning but Joel has always helped us get it back.

Doesn’t look like it’s working unless it only for certain items

Why bother selling the dwiii imo its a feat

I have the Apex Haero deck and the new Comp 95 deck and I’ve ridden the DWII.

MBS generally offers tremendous value for money. Their bindings are the best and the new Matrix trucks are pretty decent especially for the money.

Those complete packages are extremely tempting but IMO there’s no comparison with the decks. The Apex Haero is so much better ergonomically and comes with all the inserts in the deck.

The DW is really stiff so it’s a very different feel but perhaps you might prefer that.

I would personally stay away from MBS tires. Either get Shit Slingers from Apex or Mud Pluggers from Trampa.

Apex have decks from Haero . Difference is Just graphic and Apex have already in the holes with threads for Battery box. It is up to You which deck will buy it

That’s correct but it’s not just threaded inserts, the battery inserts are the same as the binding inserts, fully integrated with the deck. If you are top mounting a battery this is the best way to guarantee security. DIY methods will never be quite as good. Other than that and the graphic they are exactly the same as the haero deck, which is the best deck on the market.

OP - what drives are you going for? If you get the deck and are paying shipping there’s the jump drives and shit slingers you can add in.

Just bought some stuff from mbs eu and the discount code did still work. Usually it does work for all parts in their shop.

That is truth that threat inserts already in is the best solution for battery mount. Unfortunately for example for me the extra cost and tax for stuff from UK is the reason to buy Hearo from Germany.

I think the only extra cost you would have is shipping when ordering from the UK, which is a chunk tbf. Taxes are the same.

Unfortunately after Brexit we must pay extra fees for orders from UK:( inside EU no extra fees, just transport.

Hey I’m glad you replied. That’s good to hear about the deck. I did have another question about it. How is the flex. I’m 230lb without gear and want a deck that is still flexy enough to not be uncomfortable to ride and not floppy lol.

I do plan on running the apex jump drives as well

hey man - no worries!

I (Lee) am about 240 and ride the stiff deck, still plenty of flex and pop in the deck but it’s stiff enough not to wang about when you land a jump. Pretty much perfect for me. Our pro riders are all lighter (of course ) and they all ride the same stiff deck - it works for most weights.
