Mountainboarding Questions (Safety Gear, Riding Techniques, etc.)

With a board with trampa dongle or metr pro you could just switch the motor direction and drive front wheel drive :tipping_hand_man:

I can switch my motor direction as well you goofs.

I keep my front bushings much looser than my rear and it rides weird. I know skate tools exist before you go there.

You can just put your board in reverse mode for all the goofy riders to try

I ride regular goofy… :tipping_hand_man:
I can’t imagine your problem… sorry :joy:

Riding reverse on a board would make your front bushing your back and vice versa

I ride etoxx elastomer dampers… sorry still can’t feel with you :tipping_hand_man::joy:

Are you saying your front and rear springs/damps are the same firmness?

Yes exactly this. You can’t change that with elastomer damper. Not yet as min… they all the same.

But to be faaair, my Matrix2 are set up with different shock blocks as well. Don’t worry I get your point.

FWD is more uncomfortable than RWD.

There were a lot of meat pictures on this thread. I felt obligated to post.

Y’all think those hillybilly pants will survive street stuff?

I’m on the hunt for some street pants as well that aren’t too bulky. I think @deckoz has or was looking in to getting those.

I gotta get me some of those. Always scrape my hips on falls.

The Trampa butt protection probably isn’t as protective as that but looks nice and easy to put on and take off without taking pants all the way off which can be a pain with the leg and tight pants. Anyone tried it?

I’mma order these thank u, I seem to land hip first

eboard crashes tend to be quite gnarly. Add into the mix being strapped to something that weighs 20kg and the risk climbs a lot. These days for intense sessions I am wearing full body armour, flatland 3d pro gloves with wrist protection, gform shorts, leaat kneepads and a full face helmet. Not taking any chances

if im out filming I take it more chill anyways so no need for the protection (I just wear half shell, gloves and knees as a minimum), and I dont use the heel straps if I am carrying gimbal and camera

BTW, love this thread, great idea!

This was me after I came off on-road wearing POC Pure MIPS helmet and Knox Orsa MX gloves only. No heel straps on-road, going about 25km/h.

I’m getting a full face helmet as soon as I can afford it, had three hematoma’s, two in front and one on top at the back of my head, also had a bruised heel.

sheeeeeet! yeah full face is good! I recommend the Giro Switchblade, not the cheapest but light af and just a good all rounder

LEATT 3DF 5.0 PADDED IMPACT SHORTS seem to get better reviews than the ones you posted

Good idea. Been messing with that lately, but no big breakthroughs for a true quick switch. Mainly just providing hole pattern for both options, but still requires tools to swap.

Quite interesting concept for winter wheels.

To the posts above, I feel you land way easier on your face when you are strapped than when you aren’t.
