Been using the P45B for awhile now as well and yeah, the cells seem to hold up insanely well. Can push it hard and not notice as significant if a drop in performance as even P42s

Engineering samples have been out for a while and I tested them for my Patreon supporters a few weeks ago. Other testing is ongoing and eventually Iâll post some of the results publicly.
I donât expect any production P50Bâs to be available until at least the end of the year and most likely next year. Perhaps some of the samples will pop up here and there before then though.
Theyâre very good performing cells, as would be expected.

maybe the wrong thread for this but
how bad is the voltage drop under load on the p42a compared to the p50b? my 12s pack goes from like 48-49v down the 41v when under load.

You might get back one volt of that back by going to P50Bâs (next year) but a lot of your drop could be in the welds, nickel strip, series connections, wiring, and connectors and changing cells wonât help with that unless the pack is built differently (better) next time.

I havenât measured its AC IR, sorry,
Since that doesnât help with determining the potential (no pun intended) voltage sag and changes very little over the life of the cell I donât measure it for the cells I have tested.

But it seems youâre very confident of your stance on this, expressed via your dismissive LOL. So tell me then, what would the AC IR tell us thatâs so much better than what the DC IR tells us?

I have no device for measure DC IR, only AC IR. For me it is important to know and compare. And you know this answer.
Why is that important to you? What information is that testing/comparison giving you?

Because it tells me how much charge is stored in a cell, which allows me to estimate the range I can get from a battery pack.
Why are you answering my question with a question? Why is AC IR so important to you that you would insult a valued member of our community? What information is that testing/comparison giving you?

I donât know anything about you or why you do what you do. That is why I asked you questions. While someone accusing me of knowing more than I do could be considered a compliment I suspect your comment was meant to be something less than that. 
Comparing is important and I can do that with DC IR. I can also calculate the initial voltage drop under load using DC IR. You are unable to use AC IR for anything but comparing AC IR (if you do the tests properly).
I accept that knowing AC IR is important to you but that has nothing to do with whatâs important to anyone else. Especially when other performance characteristics give us more information.

Of course Iâm trying to increase the support I get via Patreon! My patrons are frakkinâ awesome and are the ones who make it possible to take some time off from my day job work in order to do testing. The more support I get the more testing I can do. You are free to not do so but donât expect some kind of special treatment just because of your self-entitlement.
I have spent many, MANY thousands of dollars of my own money and thousands of hours of time testing for yearsâŚyears. I answer up to several dozens of questions PMâd and emailed to me every day from non-patrons. All this for free. What have you done for the different communities?
