How would these wheels be on normal roads? Retrofittable to more commonly seen ESK8s?
Sounds like they would be fun to try. I am going through pneumatics really quick, Maybe a higher durometer formula and narrower width would be great for typical riding! Trickle down technology!
May i ask wht kvs those motors have?
And on how many S are you running them?
Kr and thx
im building a board with the moe stooge drive train and reacher tech motors for my friend
really awesome build
for the battery what advice do people have
go lipo? or stick with li-ions?
if lipo then which brand would you go for
If you are in Europe there is really only two option for lipos. Thatās the tattu 4s 10000MAH 30c or 4s 16000MAH 30c
I havnt fund any other that meet the specs we want.
i was on tattu site and they are an absolute fortune
any more reasonable ones
Turnigy?
Turnigy is 12c. As I understand it we want at least 20c. But we all know that those c numbers are questionable, so maybe the Turnigy will work.
Also I need thinner ones
The 12s are often super thick and canāt be bottom mounted
Maybe 4-5cm max
Maybe a bunch of turnigy in series
I am talking about when we use the mamba esc which is 8s. So we use two 4s in series and two paraelle.
If you use other esc“s I dont know what to say.
I could in theory use 8s but my friend wants a vesc so max at 100a per side
@MoeStooge, is there a way to replace the bearings on your wheel cores without using advanced metallurgy techniques?
Inside bearing taps out first. As you tap the outside it will push the wheel centering dowel out with it.
Bearings and spacers lay out same as skate wheel core. The wheel centering dowel is just a pressed fit cap.
Great, thanks. Iāll try that. I didnāt realize the centering dowel is just press fit.
I have one more question. I now use your wheels on the new Savage1 trucks. They come with 10mm axles (same as your trucks) and the securing nut takes the wrench number 14. If the wheel sits at the very end of the axle, the end of the axle is inside the centering dowel and the socket wrench is just a hair short of clearing the opening so I havenāt found a good way to tighten the nut. Is this different on your 3-link trucks? Or is there a clever trick?
Edit: Iām not sure if I managed to word the problem clearly. I unfortunately donāt have a good picture to illustrate the issue. This one is the best I have:
This is with my custom 3D printed cores. And this is actually OK since without the centering dowel the hole is just big enough for the wrench to get inside so I can tighten the nut. With the centering dowel in place though the wrench can no longer get in.
Our spindle length places the nut outside the wheel. I think this may be what you need. Tightens with an allen but does not have the nyloc feature
Thatās a great tip. Thank you. Iāll see if I can find some of these locally.
The plata and the stooge wheels look so niceā:ok_hand:
@MoeStooge do you know when your HD rods are coming in
i wanna buy your track pack but waiting for them as i wanna run sss 56104 motors
What are these?
