I think that’s what they are called….
They allow for larger motors to be fitted to his trucks

I saw these wheels on the dustiest asphalt.
They had an order of magnitude more grip and double the speed of my kaly with evolve rubber.
Was so weird to watch. Certainly 1.2 GS of cornering or more
Fantastic job Moe!!!
@MoeStooge my friend bought your drivetrain (minus motors) and im setting it up for him
it seems your pinions are 8mm and only the sss5694 are 8mm shafts
the sss56104 (which can be got at a lower kv) is 10mm
anyway to get a motor pinion with a 10mm hole?
thanks
Drill it out
Or machine the motor shaft to 8mm.
My 56104 are 8mm
Really?
I searched online and it said the 104 was 10mm
Will look again
Spur has approx 6.3mm or 1/4" width
Thanks
@MoeStooge has anyone used the spur gear with MBS rockstar ii wheels? It looks on your site like the wheel gear is a bolt on fit for Trampa hubs. I’m not sure how happy the wheel bearings would be without a support bearing for the wheel gear, but we do this all the time for belt drives.
With high voltage builds, it seems like everyone wants higher gear drive ratios.
7:1 gear ratio on 20s with 190kv motors. @poastoast your next experiment?
Motors don’t like that. Your magnet losses end up being super high. Im trying 205kv on 16s 6.42:1 and it’s pushing it.
I do not .
With rubber, there is a point where the ratio of grip/weight falls off. We tune this with tire temps.
Tire temps and grip is happy 125f to 160f.
Over 160 and over the tire grip gets greasy.
Our over 185lb riders tend to overheat the 45duro rubber on long short track runs. As we bump up duro temps come down and grip is stabilized. Static loading is 70%f 30%r
Rear static load would be 26lb per wheel with a 185 pounder.
The important # would be load transfer to the rear wheel from center off under acceleration. I have no idea what that is, but it is much much more than turn entry loading.
If you center the gear up and tighten it up it will run true without the carrier. We run a carrier bearing for the spur on all our builds.
Will be testing our new spur gear setup hopefully over the weekend. Aluminum adapter gets a steel ring gear for versatility and weight reduction.
With the Adapter, you can bolt up the race wheel to belts or spur gear to 5 bolt pnumatics.
Epic. Credit card ready to buy the new spur gears and slap them on some @tomiboi hubba hubs soon.
rn, i’m goin 180kv 5653 5.5, but i have skme secret plans
it’s gonna be fuckt wucky
Secrets? hahahahahaha
oh no, i got extra secrets
