MBS Matrix iii (3) discussion

Lol  skate hardware is really confusing sometimes think it’s a mix of both

That would be the cheapest way, if someone tried to do batches of milling down hangers it would still cost a bit more due to reshipping. I guess if they could bulk order enough trucks (when supply allows) maybe that added cost could be mostly offset.

If I were to throw an alternate idea to the threaded baseplate I think you should have a set of both threaded and not.

I have to defend loctite’s honor from this blaspheming.

imo when I saw the MIII pic it really made me think more that I would rather have a threaded top plate/esc box mount so that you could tighten trucks without taking esc off first. I assume other people have considered threading on top of the deck for esk8 or having captured nuts.

To take this idea to the max have both sets of holes on both truck and top plate. LOL and 3M VHB as a riser pad. Need a damn chisel to take your trucks off then.

Yes, the oils have been popular so planning those for sure. And maybe a few other colors. I like the gunmetal gray as well. How do you do a poll on here?

Oeh multiple colours sounds great

@xsynatic helps this man setup a poll :love_you_gesture:

When opening a reply, press on the COG at the very end of the options
grafik

Click Build poll
Click Multiple choice
then click on the cog again on the bottom right to have additional options.
and then enter each color with enter to create a new line

Forget this next part, discourse formats it different than what you can work with
Optionally you can copy this text here, remove just the @ symbol at the beginning and add a color to each number you see, then post it. Or tell us the colors and we’ll create a poll if if you want

Thank you guys so much for the feedback. Just had a read through. I laughed, I cried, I learned,… All great stuff. Many points mentioned have been addressed. Some haven’t but still can. I’ve noted it all and will comb through the details soon. PS. Sorry for derailing that other topic. Thanks for moving it over here (wherever this mysterious place is…). I’ll be checking in periodically and all your feedback is appreciated.

Would silver be a finish or just the raw material?

Talking about the nuts holders, you could go for a similar setup to Apex, they have a pocket/side wall to lock the nuts in place along two walls. Making it easy to thread in the bolts from the top. The bolt can still tilt in this pocket and slide vertically so a riser can still be used more easily with this type.

Credit for this idea of course goes to @moon

@MBS, any thoughts about offering 10mm axles so we can run urethane wheels?

… We have that too :kissing_heart:

It works well…until it doesn’t. Don’t get a bad screw while drilling in the trucks to the deck. Nut will eat through the walls and become free moving again

Free moving, but also impossible to get a tool around to hold it in place so you can remove the bolt :man_facepalming:

One of the nut retention slots on my HT baseplates is about ā…”rds stripped, and I’m convinced it’s going to give up the ghost the next time I un-bolt my trucks. I have no fuckin clue what to do about it either

The only thing I can think of is to JB-Weld the nut in place, but that seems like a bad idea.

All these things sound like ā€˜solutions’ to something that was never a problem. Wtf is wrong with just using nuts like a normal person?
