@MBS any update on the Matrix III trucks?
Matrix II update:
- More arriving in the US in a few weeks.
Matrix III update:
- Available in 2022 (month not yet confirmed).
- Based on testing so far… they’re bad ass.
Is it still too early to have a little peek?
Well… OK. If you promise to keep it within this forum. Here’s a cheeky shot off my desk of some of the latest rough protos. Still some details to change but riding so good so far. Making me smile.
Nice!
What’s the motor mount profile on that bad boy? Please say 22mm x 22mm
I hope you don’t kill me… but it’s actually 22.5mm square.
Thanks for sharing Joel! The sneakpeek looks nice, square profile will be convienient for mounting. Too bad its not 22 mm that would have been great for standarization but oh well.
Nice, thanks. to keep it on the hush hush, maybe we should move this to the lounge but you wouldn’t have access.
Will the hanger be compatible with matrix II baseplates?
Good question. Those baseplates are looking significantly meatier though. I like it.
…and are those points next to the pre-tensioners for mounting bull-bars or something?
Yeah I noticed they were thic I just bought a pair of metal baseplates
So close.
Could it be the powder coating?
Will they come in oil slick? Or is that done for?
I refuse to give this comment a like
this is the amount of slop of an Apex Air truck in a hanger press fit mount designed for the MIII
Although, if we are making our own hangers what does this matter so much.
Cheap front hangers I am good with.
Dont forget the air is also made to a tollerance as well as the matrix, so it will be a lot worse. It just means that vendors selling drivetrains have another square profile to make.
I bet I can make a 22.5 square rod fit into a 22mm square hole.
If you wanted you could make a shim to convert a mbs MIII hanger mount to 22x22
