Hay anyone reading this and thinking of joining the chain gang.
I’ve been running chains the past few years always having to buy simplex plate and drill/cut them myself which takes a long time usually ending up in sprockets that are sort of nearly centred.
Then I stumbled across this post whilst having a mooch around the forum (as one does).
Needing new pinions I sent a message across but shipping 2 pinions wasn’t financially economical.
So I realised I also need new wheels (didn’t take much convincing) as I’m sure some of you can attest (as we all have the same itch).
Facko was a pleasure to deal with.
responds very quickly and is very helpful.
Shipping to the uk was fast (I’ve had takeaways take longer to arrive)
The quality is far superior than I could ever cut myself. I’m very glad I scratched this particular itch. Will be buying more when I need to.
Hi Fako, I’m attempting an odd build. I’m making a 2 wheel inline board, trying to use 10 inch tires. I plan to have 2 motors pulling the rear wheel, chain sprocket on each side. I don’t know what gearing I should use. I have motors with an 8mm keyway shaft.
I am considering using these wheels

I’m open to other ideas for wheels if you have them. I like the larger stronger tires that I can get for these wheels.
Are you able to make sprockets that will work for me?
So normally Iam using MBS and Trampa pattern. From my point of view for bigger wheels You need screws so close to outer hub diameter as is possible to fix big sprockets. So I would propose here MBS hubs. Question is which battery, motor You will use and what is Your max speed needed.
Thanks Facko! I have an Endurance 2.0 from MBoards that I plan to use for motors and electronics. I’ve considered the MBS hubs, but it seems like the 9inch tires are the largest I can get for them. I have a feeling they won’t be large enough to leave me decent clearance under the battery enclosure, and that the weight of the board + rider will be higher than what is appropriate for only 2 tires. I’m also not certain that the MBS hubs are centered, they may have some offset. The wheels need to be completely centered. Max speed should be at least 28mph.
Why do You need centered hubs? And here on forum are 3D printed spacers to be able use bigger tiers. But 10” should be possible without it.
To be honest Iam afraid that implementation of chain drive will be difficult. Based on pictures on board it looks that motor mounts are too short. That mean ,we will need to use small sprocket to be able reach free space for rotation. So ratio will be also small. With this big tires You will have really big max speed and You will loose torque. Please check dimensions between motor axis and wheel axis. Need clear value.
Just need some numbers. Produce something based on picture is too risky that it will not fit. Will check evening if will find something more. Your support is welcome:)
