MBS Agent Series Electric Mountainboards Have Arrived

@MBS this thread sets a gold standard. Y’all are awesome. Excited to try the board.

You know when i think about it that makes sense about the esc. I forget what its like when you first get into diy. It can be overwelming and even still i need help sometime. Would like to see more diy parts on the shop. Kind of like apex was. Yeah was not trying to call you out about not listing the cells but i think everyone gets red flags when they dont see the type of cells listed. Hope this is a start for more products to come.

That was our goal with the esk8 dynamometer we made at Hoyt. It had an inertial load tuned to simulate a 300lb rider on flat ground. Could throw any 2wd board on it and get an acceleration test that can be directly compared to any other tested board.

Shame it’s rotting in a warehouse now

Yeah that thing was/is epic, was a real shame I didn’t get to test my raceboard on it.

I did get to test my mountainboard on it and that’s what gave me the conviction to turn up my amps to 130/motor! Risk free testing without street facing from a overcurrent error

OMG, this is awesome! Love it. We’ll have to work out a plan for getting the MBS AGENT added to this.

I like what I’m hearing

Thank you though, I put a ton of work into my data. I also measure torque, braking, and range on all boards, as well as top speed (this one is scariest usually)

This is awesome! Glad to see my fellow Colorado boys join a tough market with proper planning! :muscle:t3::muscle:t3:

You’re too kind mate, the truth is I just popped round to shoot the shit every now and then and felt privileged to do so!

Super keen to have another fang on this thing, can’t wait for a release event!

So does that mean there’s a demo board in Melbourne?

So I don’t need another board… but surely it wouldn’t hurt to just try it out. But I suspect it may hurt the wallet following!

Will there be an Australian release?

Great work @MBS and full points for the interoperability and not forgetting the diy scene. And extra points for bringing good vibes to the forums

Thanks man! Yes, I have a few protos here in Mornington. Hit me up to ride sometime. Ben Buckler is distributing MBS in Aus now and planning to bring some in, but not sure about timing, so hit them up for details.

Sweet as cheers mate, will do so if I’m down that way - thanks!

Eu launch when?

Working on the details… Non-electric new stuff (bindings, decks, trucks, hubs,…) will be early December. The AGENT electrics look like early 2025 for EU. Depends a bit where you are. Just working on various shipments as this stage.

Congrats on the new release! Really awesome idea with the quick swap packs and having them available for separate purchase! Also love the pre-drilled channels on the deck, that might end up being something I pick up.

Quick question on that 18s x 100a. Is that 100a total (50a per motor) or is that 100a each motor?

Thanks man!
Total: 100a x 75.6V = 7.6kW
Per Motor: 50A x 75.6V = 3.8kW

I understand the fact that many of you run lower voltages (i.e. 12S) means the 100A max (total) won’t work for you. We’re not targeting this as a DIY ESC. This is mainly for MBS. The rest of the AGENT parts should be sweet for you though.

I’m going to have to come out of Youtube retirement for this one.

Congrats @MBS :star_struck:

@MBS are the batteries interchangeable? Could one purchase the jumper, then upgrade to the larger battery in the future?

100%. That’s critical. And we’ll probably do some different batteries in the future and those will all be interoperable as well. We went to 18S to future proof this as much as possible.

May I add this is Battery Current not Phase Current that a lot of manufactures quote to inflate power figures

Hahaha. I just read your post wrong! I get it now. Thanks for pointing that out!
