Maytech v2 remote

Yeah like a 10 mile group ride is 87 miles lol

Daaaamn bro! 87 MILES. Logging those miles! Is that how I become an esk8 tester…

Haahha seriously though it is a mystery to me why it is doing that, I swear I have my settings right.

@Eileen @Agnes_Maytech Ever heard of the miles logging being really excessive?

I love mine. More then puck

Won’t work with uart on unity
Need to update to 5.x firmware

Sorry

Or manually hook up phase and hall land battery connections and pretend you don’t have a vesc

@Eileen. What the fuck did you guys do wrong here with telemetry.

Hi , i checked with engineer. Because the distance is calculated according to motor RPM. if you switch on your board and rotate it by foot (even not push throttle) , VESC_TOOl will calculate the RPM and send the data to receiver. Then remote will calculate the distance based on that.

How does the remote account for wheel size then?

1 rpm on a 73mm urethane wheel is much shorter distance than 1 rpm on a 200mm pneumatic wheel.

Hmm… I guess I could try a ride without freewheeling at all but I dont think that will help much

there is a setting for the wheel diameter so the speed is adjusted

Did we get a final answer on if it’s supposed to be 7 or 14 motor poles?

it’s pairs of motor poles if i remember correctly so 7 if you have 14 poles

I believe this is correct, but I have it set at this and still get ridiculous distance readings so idk haha

at 1:09 it says :“be sure to note that ‘poles’ here are actually pole pairs”

maybe the ridiculous distance reading come from another setting wrong gear ration, wrong wheel diameter, etc ?

Alright thank you!

Now how about this one. If I want to use ppm to control it and uart (tx/rx) only for telemetry, do I want nothing or current mode? Sounds like current mode is still using uart to control.

@kevingraehl how’d you get yours to stop showing 99 mph?

Nah I got it right on mine, 110 mm and 2.7 gear ratio. It’s something else

@Venom121212 not sure on that one, I am just using UART. What makes you want to use ppm and telemetry?

You could solder one of the 3 motor sensor wires to the receiver and change the source to hall sensor
or you made a mistake on the vesc tool

Yeah that’s not happening lmao I’m not going to tap into my sensor or hall wires

I’m fairly certain that it’s a remote issue. Do you have one that works the distance properly?

Vesc tool should not affect it because my speed works fine

A uart device has given me a wacky result before so I’m askeered.

Also I can’t change wheel diameter to larger than 200mm :pensive:

Oof that sucks. Wonder why they did that

Not like it’s just an arbitrary 3 digit number used in a calculation… Oh wait.
