Maytech v2 remote

This is all you need to get it functioning? I’m not too worried about the data part

yes, the only connection I did was the PPW/PWM and it’s working just fine. I have a DaveGA so I’m not interested in the data on my remote…I can’t see it anyways without my glasses

Let me know if you run into any issues. I love this remote so far.

Yep, would be easier if I had connectors I guess.

I have a bunch of different Jays tees I buy from AliExpress and in this situation I cut one end and crimped pH on the other

I hate how tall the cables they give you are. They are huggggggeeeee and don’t fit inside an enclosure

Add ESCapes to the list that doesn’t work with the Maytech telemetry. Unless I’m missing something, I only get battery meter.

Not just the bullshit connectors but I had trouble finding a place for the receiver at all.

Yeah I think “inma” solder JST male/female connectors on next time I open my enclosure.

How did you guys miss the earlier topic about this remote?

Man I thought there was a very similar topic about this remote. You still using it?

I’m using V2 and V3 now. Awesome remote, absolutely had no problems so far!

Good to hear. V2 has been solid and v3 showed up yesterday

So what’s the magic dance we have to do to get this remote working with unity @kevingraehl?

It’s actually not as hard as you might think, what are you having trouble with?

I blew my receiver up yesterday because I shorted the additional power through the transistor switch tho, but I did manage to get the relay working so I think I’ve got everything else down fine. Shame I have to wait for 18 days to get a new receiver tho…

Nothing troublesome yet. I wired up my last one (previous edition) to get battery and throttle input but recall reading some issues with uart and ppm on this remote. I have nothing to relay control yet so no need to hook that up.

Just uart and ppm and go?

Baud rate required?

Remote menu config weirdness?

The two connectors in the pic I sent are in the right orientation, but not exactly lined up with the pins they are all you need to get going. Top one is batt positive, then gnd, 5v, and tx, rx. One of the diagrams in the user manual has the correct wiring too

I am running just UART, only weird thing I had was that the distance is very wrong for some reason but that’s not a big deal since I have metr. Anyone else experience this? I set my ratios and stuff right as far as I know. Baud rate is the default, menu config was fine for me.

Ordered also one, because I had a lot of problems with the previous version. No UART data with newer VESC FW and very weak signal.
I’m curious if the new one is any better.

Yes! I dont know why but my distance is super weird! Sky rocketing and resetting all the time
