Could this potentially mean tubeless? :eyes::eyes:

Tubeless tire changing

If only it was this easy

I’ve done this once, honestly it’s significantly easier and less effort to just take the wheel off, granted I’m sure he changes way more tires than I have and ever will so :man_shrugging:t2:
also using that 1" impact is pretty fun

Will it still have that hot rod look lol. Honestly turning might be a good option over milling!

yes, cheaper, more balanced and generally perfectly round XD

it will be nearly exactly the same as it was, i can even shave off some material inside now and save weight!
if this works out this might actually be vastly superior to the previous design, while looking the same.

turning the rims, eliminating the asymmetric shapes you have for locking the two sides together and using pins instead, and only milling the pulley side would definitely work.

Just make sure you round off or smooth any edges that may come in contact with the tube. For science, i didn’t sand down any of those inside edges. I now have a flat.

A smaller/lighter medium rock tumble might be able to take care of this if that is an option in production. seems to be a consistent issue with all CNC hubs.

i thought it might too. I suggested tumbling earlier, so hopefully they can sort that out.

Aiiiiiii im very sorry :sob: yes we will make sure there are no hard edges on the rim!

same looks, better design. what do you reckon @moon?

i am wondering how hard it is to get the tube through though with this design

If the tolerances on the tires are the same, then the tube will be impossible to put on like this. You should keep it split down the middle.

hmmm, i was thinking of putting the valve in the wheel itself, positioning it right overthe hole and fiddleing it through xD

This is what I’m talking about OPEN SOURCE :star_struck: @longhairedboy @Bavioze @surfnacho and @moon you rock :call_me_hand:

Is that one solid design now? Just by the looks of it, it looks as though the machinability is definitely a lot better!

Would these wheels be able to hook up to a direct drive system?

Yes if the design has kegel core!

My only concern here would be if the direct drive trucks are long enough to even secure the hub onto the wheel.

Sorry, what do you mean? The wheels have normal longboard wheel bearing placement.
