Lol I think @Plurf was talking about price.

Definitely in between, hard to give a price rn.

Ad luuk said, we will go ahead and poll everyone on pricing.

The 3 sets I machined took a lot of time and material so these are costly to manufacture. Luuk is working on tweaking and optimizing the design.

Also yes, we will do black ones. I couldn’t make a product that doesn’t come in black

Red, Black, and Purple. And i think people would pay extra for custom anodize if you think you could make that happen.

It’s surprising nobody want them raw

We can do also raw for you

I am absolutely in love with this thread and the work shown in it. Great work to everyone and I will most definitely be a buyer if they look like those hot rod wheels!!! Amazing work

Sure but I can’t afford those beauties unfortunately
I love what you surfnacho did though

thank you sir!

Awesome! Glad to see the interest, it is way too much work and cost to make like 3 sets, I am confident now that we can make and sell these for a competitive price.

Well you got my vote. Excited to see the progress!

Okok update time:

Rims are very expensive to make because of the 3 piece design.

Surfnacho and me are currently working on a way to make the hubs cheaper to make and more precise using turning instead of milling as the base manufacturing method to get the prices more competetive.

Im quite curious to you guys input on this since the design will probably change a bit on the inside of the wheel.

We are planning to launch the wheels soon though!

Depending on the quantity, wouldn’t it be cheaper to cast them ?

Im not for that, the material density would not be the same everywhere, resulting in unbalaced pieces. I was thinking of this indeed aswell.

I would scrap the current locking method and add locking pins instead

Yes im thinking of turning the whole single piece with the exeption of one outer flange and having the holes milled and drilled. This should be way faster and cheaper.

Plus they have the same ā€œcenterednessā€ as those expensive rims.

What do you think about that @moon this will result in the loss of using bolt on pulleys, but ill make sure i will resolve that, i can take over the bergmeister pattern i believe if i remove the bolts i use now.
