@b264 I can confirm that I get about 12 hours of full brightness usage from them
This is my first full diy board. I unfortunately don’t have any space in my enclosure for a step down buck so I had to go with something that could handle the voltage.
Sadly I could not find many lights that could handle 12s but this is what I’ve found. Set up to be wired to my BMS’s discharge and a latching 48v led switch.
I have to replace my BMS and the newer one has a terminal for a power switch, so I’m thinking about hooking the switch to the BMS since discharge is by passed but I’m not totally sure if/how this might effect things.
Was sorta tough finding a spot to put them without truck mounts, but I managed to get one secured well to my baseplate. I like the angle, it should point right at car-height.
Huge fan of the auto-on function, I hate having to bend down and turn on lights when my other ones are integrated
I had the Shredlight SL300s on my bullbar using their handlebar mount cinched as tight as possible and by the end of 5 miles they would be pointed straight down.
Found this “2600 lumens” light. Let’s see how well it (angle and durability) holds after a few rides. So far it looks plenty bright. 5 led all turns on. I had it on the lower setting where the middle one was off. Lowest setting has just the middle led on.
the best thing about shredlight is the mounting system. This light’s mount is designed for bike handlebars, thus the bullbar works, but for a regular deck, mounting becomes an issue. Maybe you can find the Chinese factory that make these and convince them to just make it into a GoPro attachment instead of this slide on thing. MAD Lights TM
Hey everyone, I’m looking for a way to get the stars and rainbow on my flux build to glow. I was wondering if this would work if I wired two of them(under the fabric and frit), and masked out the design to match with the fabric. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800501072567.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.42c93c00LGViH5&mp=1&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt&_randl_shipto=US
Kind of like what @Ean.esk8 did with his flux build but with frit. Only thing is I’m not sure if the colors on the rainbow would really show with the white light. To mask out the design I would probably get some matt black paint or something similar to cover various areas of the light. I also heard that you can cut these but not 100%. I think this would be a sick look so let me know if ya’ll have ideas.
Edit: I just rode 10 miles, on the bike trail, it was fine, but after the first of 3 should wooden bridges, it starter drooping, by the end of the third bridge it was completely pointed down. The way the stock mount is designed, the weight of the light is too far forward thus increasing the leverage over the bar.
Got a short 3 mile night ride in with the new bar light. So far so good. Still not sure how the mount will hold up over time since vibrations have broken aluminum mounts on a lot of builds.
Here’s how bright it was in a pitch black spot and slightly different angles
