Let there be ESK8 lights

The need for that also exists over here.

Is that a Picatinny rail?

It should be, I’m asking a friend to help me get one if possible. Apparently, it’s only sold in Taiwan, and they don’t ship WW.

Edit: my plan is, to mount two TM9K so I can have a day time view in front of me

That should be pretty easy to design. I don’t feel up for it at the moment but it should be simple if you can find some pic rail models.

I wonder if you could also just buy this:

and screw it onto some shredlights mounts.

its possible in the DIY world, but it may not be the elegant way to do it. besides, such product already exist, the only problem would be getting them ship WW

The way I suggested would be stronger and more versatile but I suppose less elegant yes. Could 3D print a pic rail insert for the shredlights mounts to skip the bolting. More plug and play.

quick release would also be a good idea, not sure if the rail system have quick release adapter tho

I don’t really understand LEDs but is this a good value? Seems like it, not exactly sure what LED to choose though.

Could spring for this one, might be more appropriate.

Very interested in which of these you try. I’d probably consider oval but end up ordering spot…

I was thinking for a board mounted light that medium would be nice, and if It was too wide throw on a reflective cone to reduce the spread.

Nah nvm I think spot would be best, Shredlights give me a wide view what I lack is the far out vision.

Alright. Papa needs lights on his esk8.

Backspace is limited.
I was thinking about getting a lacroix brake light and front light(maybe two). @Pedrodemio 700 mA?

700 mA is the max you can drain?

Is that the amount, that the front light needs?
I’d drain from my main battery.

It’s 1A @ 12V each

I definitely recommend 2 if you plan to ride in the dark, if it’s just to be seen one is more than enough

24 Wh for 1 hour at full brightness, I reckon.
Now I need to find a suitable buck converter.

I’m using a LM2596HV, I think it good up to 60V and pretty cheap, they do get a bit toasty, best thing I did was to mount it to the baseplate so it act as a heatsink

2A nominal, 3A max
It’s pretty cheap.

Just pay attention to not get the regular LM2596, it up only to 35V

Last step would be the wiring from the center. That’s the easy part.
