Let there be ESK8 lights

Tested, not in that dark and place, but let’s say now it’s good and can indeed light the road, custom driver will be needed for sure, not only to achieve full power, but to be able to dim it a lot on the remote, is simply impossible to even glance at it if you are on the focal path

Another thing is that it needs some custom lens, right now too much light is wasted illuminating the sky, and aiming down only makes the distance darker

Who’s in the big light club?! :joy:

It’s cool and all…but why? Sounds like you wanted to overcomplicate your life by DIYing a light that already exists

Because I want to push them harder than the existing lights does, they max at 1600 mA while the leds itself can take 3000 mA

If It were me, I’d be looking into multi-die LEDs with a higher Vf like 6 or 12, and a proportionally lower If.

Been there, done that, works great.

Cree XHP35, XHP50 and XHP70 are available in 3,6,and 12 Vf.

Meeeeee!

Mount is all 3D printed and has TPU arms to dampen shock and prevent cracking. The base mount has slots for my phone if I am doing any Metr logging and want to see real time data like a DAVEga. So far after around 50 miles it works great.

Decided to FINALLY test out a handheld flash light after all these years… I’ve always been happy with an off road light mounted to the board but also wanting more throw which will.never be achievable with a board mounted light…

So… I’m goofy and right handed… Would love to just have one hand doing all the work and my front hand would be the obvious winner…

This tactical flashlight worked quite well…

Half way thru my test ride I pulled the light off the remote and held the light in my rear hand. Worked just as well but still wishing I coukd just have a single solution that was clip on/off to the remote for when I’m riding at night…

Turn the knob until it’s 8V

Then glue it

Whoops, that’s the same one you linked.

That one works fine depending how much current you want to draw

It’s not set up in a way that makes adding a heatsink feasible as the heat is dumped into the PCB with vias
