@Deodand what will happen to those who have the “old” unit with the bad diodes?

High Kv inrunners with low inductane and resistance also goes on that list

Yes I read that. But was more of a badly phrased question. Should’ve said:

Will a firmware update fix it permanently or will we be required to physically change the diode?

I can do both but would rather not open a 450$ beauty and take a risk

The firmware can be considered a permanent fix I believe.

I really appreciate your transparency and explaining things in an easy to understand manner. I have learned a lot from you.

I’m glad to hear you are doing better. You are such a talented individual and have improved our community greatly. I know bugs are frustrating and you can’t always catch 'em all but I have faith that you, Charles, and Alex will continue to put out your very best.

May the diy-ers know which diode we are talking about. And what should the replacment part nr be. I bet some of us would definetly like to swap that.

Yeah it’s a nixie tube clock. New old stock soviet era tubes. Has a motion sensor so it turns off when i’m not around but turns on when it senses motion. Love it!

@Fearless562 what a nice ride! glad the app seems to be working for you. BTW you can export an image of the ride that’s better suited for posting in places with the share button up top to the right

Are you on a board lol ? @Fearless562

faak that’s an awesome addition I hadn’t even contemplated, when you posted pix a while ago, I went totally down the nixie tube rabbit-hole and started to procure parts to DIY my own…

now It looks like I’ll investigate a motion sensor… do you think the tubes would last longer continuously lit, or on and off… I’ve heard that it’s the heating and cooling cycles that kill the tubes… But that’s just anecdotal hearsay…

The point of the motion sensor is apparently so the tubes don’t stay on all night and reduce the lifespan. idk how much of it is true but something something derail jail
