I have been helping a teacher setup a kweld, but everytime I try to run calibration, I get the “overcurrent” error during the “short” part. Not sure what the issue is, my teacher assembled it, and I checked everything, it was put together correctly.
We are using a 12v battery.

a lipo?
i don’t think you can use those lead acid batteries
cuz you do’nt have 12v in lipo
you can have 3s or 4 s
A 12V starter battery is perfectly okay. He had also contacted me via email earlier, which is why I haven’t answered here. His problem is that he has too long cables, which limits the welder’s current handling capability too much because of excessive inductance.

add some resistance in the wires, like a washer on the input terminals and redo calibration maybe that can help a bit
Does anyone have an enclosure that they don’t want for this? Currently using shrink wrap but plastic wouldn’t hurt

I got the laser cut acrylic one but it’s already broken twice and I’m not a fan of it at all.

No problem. Right now I have like a dozen partials of orange from printing face shields. I don’t know that any of them have enough for a complete case and I’m real bad about screwing up mid print filament swaps.
I have wood and grey pla tracking for Tuesday and black and blue PETG tracking Thursday.
I’ll get one printing for you when something shows up.

I would be happy with any color you have, I nearly dropped some nickel across the terminals before so I just need something to prevent me blowing it up

I think the first one? I don’t have a computer so I can really see the design well but it looks like it’s a bit cleaner…I assume it’s got a hole for the screen and knob?
Lol that’s a good measurement unit, I’d like to try the pen holder, do you still get good contact with both pens?

Yeah it has a knob and screen hole… but
I just realized there’s an official version from Keenlab… might as well just do that one.
I get good contact but I haven’t done a pack with the holder yet, just test welds. I’ll send one it’s a quick print
