I have melted through so many of these electrode holders lol
Your enclosure design is awesome! Is it proven/tested already? If yes, would you allow me to put it up in my store as a free alternative download?
That’s not mine. It’s one on Thingiverse
If you mean the first one
I think it’s @NuRxG design.
that is mine, good catch. My secret alter ego as a 3D modeler.
Sure. Just Pay shipping or trade me some nickel if you got any spare
I have a bunch of 10x1.5mm and 10x2mm I can share if you’re interested?
A bit of 10x.2 would be awesome!
I’ve got 8x.3 but can’t get consistent welds.
I order some 10x.2 from amazon and it’s plated
I am making a spim08hp pack for my kweld.
My plan is to make 3S1P series packs and each one gets a set of 3.5 bullet connectors, then all three of the pos and neg go into two MR60 connectors to make them all parallel.
I guess my question is would 3x 3.5mm bullets be good enough for passing the current? I feel like it is due to people getting by with a single lipo/XT90
if it doesn’t work add another mr60 and keep going
If you can just crimp lug nuts to the 10/8 awg cables
I don’t have a crimper, I can guess what you are talking about is making the lug connections for all the packs and stacking them all on the inputs of the kweld.
My solution was just what I think I can do, I want to make these packs useful for another application as well so the bullets make that possible.
if they work I think it’s a much easier solution, everything just off hobbyking.
friend managed to switch polarities on battery input. Connector sparked and display on kweld is white. Nothing on pcb has visible burn marks. What should he look at? Is it easy fix or has to buy new welder?
Thats a viable option, but don’t overpower the welder with more than 2000 amperes. What type/model battery are these?
In most cases this only destroys the large protection TVS diodes. Remove them (the two at the right, and the one above the electrolytic capacitor) and power the unit from a bench supply. If it comes up, he might got lucky. I can then guide you how to test and possibly repair.
No that should be fine, I get nearly 1400A from a 6000mAh Turnigy Graphene Panther every time
What does your cabling look like (lengths), and have you changed the “CableLen” setting in the menu? Standard limit is 2000A, you seem to be way below that.
I cant use only one Lipo at a time, they heat up too fast (only 50c). Thinking about getting one of these instead. https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-rapid-5500mah-3s2p-140c-hardcase-lipo-battery-pack-w-xt60-connector-roar-approved.html?queryID=3b42cf1fc561af6556e77daf8ed2eb89&objectID=85637&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products
