THE BOARD IS NOT DESIGNED FOR 4WD. If it was he would’ve gone P42a or a different cell.
He designed the board for 2wd, and so he made the perfect battery for it. Close to the Max amount of amps his motors could take. He didn’t build a 160a battery when he’s only using 50% of that. It’s simple, he knows what he designed the board to do and so he built a battery around that setup
I’m not sure, not an EE. I just know that higher voltage lower amps tends to be cooler. Which in my case where my esc overheats on every hill would be nice lol
This really is a me problem though, my esc is inside a hummie deck and bigben with no ventilation
I think this is missing the point. He is an established top notch vendor that is constrained by time and quality (which is a function of time). He probably full well knows there is enough people enquiring about his decks that regardless what price his top end deck is. He will sell the amount he wants to ( based on time and quality).
At the end of the day, the type of people that buy these boards will have a price elasticity of somewhere near 0 hence it makes sense for him to charge whatever he feels he can (without people thinking it’s absurd)!
Ultimately he is maximising his objective function with respect to the consumer, not the other way around
You are talking about 80 amps on 20s here buddy, this means hell probably uses motors with low kv, resulting in them not needing as much amps, therefore running a 4wd of them is very very easily doable.
If you have a 12s8p with high current cells (P42A) and are maxing out a stormcore at 200A,
43.2V nominal * 200A = 8640w
Even if the 50e were run at 15A which I believe is the max non-continuous rating, they would probably sag to the point where the voltage starts bringing the watts down the pretty much the same output.
