Janux-esk8 Aluminum Hubs to fit Direct Drive

Unfortunately the core holes dimension of TBDD and eLofty hubs are slightly different, not interchangeable.

The answer is what I expected.
Thank you!

Yes, can be done.

I’m not sure if the new 58KV elofty drives have changed anything though. I’ll test the 3D printed adapter and if it fits the new drives I’ll let you know.

i am looking at these DD hubs and wondering if there is a reason they wont work with a regular kegel adapter? for example if i wanted to use my MAD hubs with these or even if i wanted to use my belt drive with these. @Janux-esk8

@Skyart
I have both TBDD and elofty DD. Use TBDD if you want to fit the original Kegel core.

The eLofty hub is not the correct kegel core.

Do you have a comparison of their performance?

These hubs would be so awesome if @torqueboards made lower KV DDs

what do you mean, i was able to fit TB110 wheels on…

which holes is smaller?
ie:
Does DD hub fit elofty drive?
Does elofty hub fit DD drive?
Or does none mix together?

They did change, I tried printing this piece out, I had to design an adapter piece because the circle on the bottom side doesnt fit, on the new 58KV drives it’s bigger.
This print can work (i have 30 km with it) but for durability it needs to be redesigned (upper locking part needs to be taller so the wheels are fully locked in).
But i’m a noob on 3D remodeling and with an STL file it’s hard …

DD hole is 5.67mm c-c 15.79mm
eLofty hole is 5.62mm c-c 16.25mm
Kegel hole is 5.65mm c-c 15.875mm

@thisguyhere
Boa Constrictor 100mm did not fit.

I shaved the outside of the spoke. As a side note, I shaved both 58kv and 72kv of eLofty DD.

There are several variations of Chinese DD. It seems that the number of spokes is currently decreasing.

How’s the power on the SDXL’s?
Looks pretty sweet.

Janux wheels are excellent; very happy customer and sincerely recommended.

Anyone else overheating and destroying TB DDs within minutes of riding on these?

@Janux-esk8 how are the carvons holding up with those rims and tires on them? running hot at all?

@longhairedboy build is not mine. I custom made them hubs for a client of mine here in Davis, CA. His name is James Heard. He should post a thread on his build shortly.

His quote:

"Holy shit!
These wheels are awesome. Great job.
I will post a build thread. But got these friday. Didnt look at them till sunday morning.
Decided to pull everything together for the first moc up. This is only my 3rd build. I did it and the only thing i am missing is any kind of riser pad so everything is bolted directly to my board, just as a moc up and these wheels are amazing.
I had to ride it. Not everything was as tight as it needed to be but they ride so nice. My other board rides on ABEC 107s, and this board rides exactly the way I feel like ot should ride.
It is gonna be a great board.
Thanks you do amazing work.
I had to fix one of the wheels to have the tread direction match but i did want to know how to change the tires.
Really great work, 100% worth it.
Thanks again for cutting these to fit the ABEC adapters.
Will tag you when I put up the build thread.

So the carvons ran nice with these wheels. It is my first go at big wheels. And they ride super smooth. I need to post the build. But the little i have ridden them i am amazed with hem.
I know you had some problems with the TB DD’s but do you think its a torque issue or something else?
And its my build

I think its a 75KV is too much for 145mm wheels issue, I think they overheated and enamel melted.

50-60KV would probably be better for larger wheels.
