INTERVENTION!!! thread.

I disagree. I think you guys like to act like that’s true, but I don’t think mboards ever hurt LaCroix’s business. If you buy from a new, untested company, you assumed the attached risk in doing so. And anyone as bad at building as your describing is gonna get absolutely shredded by this same community in no time flat if they’re selling out garbage.

To y’all, if I build a dangerous board, talk to me then. I appreciate the concern but I couldn’t agree more with @Kai .

Grow up. You want to be a big gun act like it. We all earned the reputations we have good or bad.

I’m would never help you because you showed up acting like a fool, hows that club going? and then soured and relationship with me you might have wanted early on, and I’ve watched you do the same with countless others.

LITERALLY YES.

What are you even saying.

Lol I wasn’t talking about legitimate companies here

The stakes are much lower for a consumer whether they buy from mboards or lacroix, than when compared to an independent person, if only because there are more people to look it over before it gets sent out

Lol so have you not built one yet? You want to sell your first board? That’s fine I guess but most of our first boards are nowhere near the quality of our 3rd or 4th

Anyways. The whole point here was just to give you a reality check, which it looks like went in one ear and out the other, with you finishing by saying “okay, I’ve never built them before, but I’m gonna sell it anyway, thanks”

That being said both sides have valid points but I’m not going to participate in this argument anymore, good luck with your endeavors

You twisted my words man.

A terrible builder is also a short lived career that stimulated our inner economy through increased repair work

Lol throwback to the people fixing psycho battery builds

He’s still around though so I guess he must have somewhat improved over time

This remains to be seen, after you put together some boards

But yeah if you screw up a build where the battery and drive train are ready to go…might be singing a dif tune :eyes:

But I have faith that you will improve, and eventually make some really nice stuff, just got to do it now

I’ll only be able to screw up a build if I even get any customers now

That’s another thing we do I don’t agree with. We have no faith in other builders becoming less stupid over time even though we count on it happening with ourselves.

Okay final thing

This is not even a “builder” it’s an assembler

Biiiiiig difference. I have no idea what the actual situation is but if it’s prebuilt drivetrain + prebuilt battery, pre set inserts, and pre made enclosure, there really isn’t much to mess up

If you somehow mess up just programming the vesc, that is just unforunate.

Yah I mean it’s situation specific. I’m a supporter of Mike Beard now because of how much he’s improved over the years. On the other hand, Dave had shown many times that he didn’t care about feedback. It’s water under the bridge now though

Just to get my foot in the door in the esk8 business, I will be working with Artem for batteries and perhaps his drivetrain (that depends on the customer’s wanting).

You can work on your skills a lot easier than your personality

Very true lol

Did you see him flaming the Lacroix packs on Instagram haha

I did. Not to make any outlandish assumptions, but the stress caused by that kind of behavior surely didn’t help his business or his health >.>

Haha yaaaah definitely not

Irony cant write itself better…

Chillllllllllll…

You already said you weren’t looking for them here…

This remains to be seen. IMO it’s flawed at it’s conception, because you’re assuming as a no name builder you’ll be able to sell premium level DIY’s (as that’s what Artem has/supplies) and benefit from using Artem’s name with it. I don’t think that will be the case.

Thank you for your input Alex. I take it you’re a very successful businessman in the esk8 realm of things and you’re only looking out for what’s best for me. But sometimes we just have to live and learn.

This thread is finally getting some traction again.

In a weird way I think he is, and for the community.

I think we just don’t want you ending up to be the next Tiller or whatever. It takes a lot of practice, swear words, and punching yourself to build a successful esk8 tbh. Especially one you’re selling in your name.

I’ve built so many boards, but I’m still not confident enough to build one for a customer knowing everything that goes into it.

Build up your rep first and document your builds to show customers

But that’s just my 2c
