Lean doesn’t mean lightweight I guess.

yeah prob something closer to that

I think they should freeroll a whole lot more. How tight did you mesh those gears between each other?

i never meshed the gears they came like this from @ahrav and i feel like something in there is not right
either gear mesh or amount of grease

bolts are loctited in place so hard to open the gears but if necessary i can

Geardrives should really roll a lot

And this is with

Did i mention how much i hate these?

And jesus christ buy some blue loctite. Stop cementing parts in that are meant to be serviced. Throw away that green loctite completely

so you think the mesh is to tight or to loose?
will open one up and see
could just be cause im running those 3ds hubs which are super heavy

Too loose means you have backlash. Wheel moves a little bit without the motor which makes them noisy. Too tight they don’t roll and you probably already messed up another bearing

Also efficiency will suck

still not sure what these are then
im guessing too loose?

believe me this boards efficiency is going to suck eitherway

Those drives come with the proper mesh already loctited in by @3DServisas himself and unless @ahrav moved the angle of the mounts there would be no reason to change the gear mesh.

optimal is ±0.14mm backlash. c= 0.2 × module. But who has a measuring gauge at home?

i guess its time for @ahrav to page in here as i have no idea if he did or didnt do so

maybe they just need to be greased rather then anything else

will see tomorrow how it all goes and if i can get a smooth startup

Man loctite really keeps being your enemy huh

yep exactly
hate the stuff
nylock is way better

Except that nylock is more or less 1-5 time use…

If you have good quality nylock nuts they will last 100 times or more. Most FPV drones use them to hold the propellers and I have replaced props countless times now.

What a beast ! Looks heavy af tho!

well @ahrav says they are heavily greased and meshed by 3ds himself so i doubt thats the issue
wonder what it is then
