Is there any benefit to having the board ride lower to the ground
Stability, at the cost of clearance. With an abs enclosure, not worth while IMHO.
besides the obvious, it feels really weird having a board really high off the ground
What would be too high?
It’s purely personal preference. I like to be as low as possible.
Whats considered a normal hight, if there even is one
I like the bottom of my deck to be about a soda can high. It gets sketchy if you go taller than a white claw can. Dependent on wheel choice, though. Bigger tires add height to the whole board, but without added space between the deck and hanger, it isn’t as noticeable of a difference.
Lower the better usually, a higher ride is normally because the parts demand the height, otherwise go as low as you can get away with.
Caveat: don’t go too low if your enclosure isn’t sturdy
You’ll run over a rock and tear a hole in it.
I still have nightmares about 'tiller enclosures
Ok so I am have problems with my deck its starting to delaminat and it geting little hair line cracks. So I think I am going to need a new one. Does anyone have suggestions on a good deck for a street board. Hopefully one thats not too expensive and that has a enclosure that I can buy for it (can be from 2 differentsealers). I have some wood glue and plan on fixing the deck but I dont know how safe its to do that .
Switchblade is very similar to yours. @hummieee has his decks, which are also similar and popular. I’ve got 33~ inch cruisers for days.
Is there a cad file out there somewhere to cnc a press to make a switchblade 40. My school has a cnc machine.
Lmao I don’t really think that there is an exact CAD file for someone to clone a proprietary design
Thats a faire point.
If you we’re to clone a switchblade, you might not want it exact anyways. Increased concave on the corners to avoid wheelbite would be a major improvement.
The plan was to maybe make a deck and then buy the enclosure for the switchblade. I dont know if im going to do that its kinda expensive and Im spending way more then I would have liked to begin with.
welcome to diy world
Im thinking maybe getting a bustin deck. Are they any good?
