if you want to see how the printing works
Yeah thats tampon stamping
A lot of things that are painted on rounded surfaces are done like that
Any update @hummieee?
Wheels n prototype tires in the mail to me now and hangers should be cast starting next week.
@hummieee Can you provide ETA? Even a wild ass guess? Will we be receiving this year?
the tires and wheels should be here in days and the hangers i’m forced to wait on Paul but he said he’s about ready to cast the hangers. Once those things happen, which i imagine will be maybe a month in total for him to cast them, then i’ll be ready to ship. should be this year.
I just found out about your amazing hubs! Are you going to offer any more in the future?
For sure. It’s been slow but definitely will be.
If you ever need better casting, i have a good contact with dimanex, they do services injection casting, cnc, etc. for a good price. I can always ask for you if you are interested and in need.
this guy does casting in a centrifuge with a machined carbon mold. ive never even heard of anyone doing thaat. but ive known him for a while and he’s local and for sure i think he’ll be getting them done soon.
Bummed as the new wheels and tires finally showed and the tires dont fit (They’re supposed to be symmetric but one side is a 60mm hole instead of the 63 and can’t get the flange on) and about half of the 540 regular wheels have bubbles on one side.
I’m relieved the tire prototype mistake isn’t mine and they didn’t follow the 3D and 2d drawing. They tell me they’ll figure it out Wednesday. Don’t know why not Monday.
They’ll get the tire right and redo that I’m sure but how many bubbles in a wheel are acceptable? I’d prefer none of course.
What are you going to do with the defected front wheels? I think some people would be keen on getting it if it was discounted
Then I’m paying full price for defective wheels and forced to sell cheaper. Likely what will end up happening. This pic is of one of the worst and none have holes on the other side or the rolling surface. I guess depends on what they say is acceptable and they said to count the ones with bubbles
Seems like a couple are no biggy. Like these TB wheels.
The clusters on the Hummie wheels and how far out they are located is a little concerning. May be superficial but I’d hate to learn the hard way. Seems like they’d be more prone to chunking or worse with the bubbles closer to outer diameter.
If you can send em back id do that, better not lose money on their friggin mistake, or buy then for half price and just sell em, something like that.
This is on the inside of the wheel though, I’ve never seen any on the outside on the TB ones.
I’d say personally one to two max on the outer surface is acceptable. That sucks though that the shop messed so many up @hummieee
I haven’t ever seen one with zero bubbles from either of the two large US wheel factories.
There ways to make without bubbles but the large factories either don’t know how or don’t want to take the time to do it.
Vacuum pumping and vibration?
