How broken are you?

I have something similar, the German version of it, I use some from time to time.
Funny enough, moving makes it better, most of my pain is from being near immobile far too long.

Ah tits, how long ago was that? Hopefully it heals up eventually, especially given you’re fairly young. I did some moderate damage to muscles and tendons n shit in the wrist and it took ~6 months to go back to normal

A year ago, fell again, this time barely on my wrist and it’s back to being sensitive as fuck. Defo permanent damage but it’s not bad.

Yup that stuff is great, I think it’s only available on prescription here but its anti inflammatory with no spicy opiates or anything nasty like that. Doesn’t help with skin wounds and cuts but for muscles and I think bones it’s very good

@exx yeah the medical literature has changed away from recommending rest and towards using the injury when possible. I often end up overdoing it but that’s a me problem, too binary so when I hear “use the sore leg” I just stop thinking about it and miss the warning signs

You can also use a brand name arthritis cream for anyone who can’t find a generic version.

I’ve had mixed results from using it myself but it doesn’t seem to hurt. I cannot safely ice injuries, or take oral medication to reduce swelling so this is the safest bet for me. Worked well for tendinitis, or at least I feel like it helps. I don’t think it even touched the swelling on my knee 6 months ago, but I also might not have used it? Either way the swelling was too severe to ever expect the cream to help

It helps with tendons too.

Also I have the same issue except it is either I use the injured body part way too much, or I baby it a ton. I have gotten slightly better after getting clarification on what pain is fine vs what pain is bad from a physical therapist but she could only tell me when I asked. There are some things I likely didn’t think to ask about specifically though. Luckily I did have a pretty bad fall while still in therapy so that did help.

Without/regular skate helmet. You can still get a concussion while wearing a helmet, so best to wear one! :brain:

SO, ilove the TSG pass, i was wearing one when i had my last bad fall, mine looked almost as bad, collected concussion #12 lifetime. I toyed with quiting ESK8, but i need hobbys or i turn into more of an insufferable dick. I dont know what esk8 helmets "top rated speed "are id encourage you if you ride fast,or have kids, consider a MC helmet. Ventalation alone is a reason to consider. However i have 12 concussions so take anyting i say with that in mind(MMM CTE)
I now only ride with a SNELL rated motorcycle helmet, i have a ultralight carbon version, the weight is simmalar to the pass, but the protection and VENTALATION are far superior. I rode bike for 20 years so im used to the bigger MC helmet anyway.
If your wanting to switch but using price as an excuse AND you are in SF bay area, ill give you a medium SHoei snell rated helmet. Its matt black with white black checkerboard stripe down the middle 8/10 condition, it was my passenger bike helmet(im not social so it didnt get used)

EDIT, I was wrong it’s wasn’t a pass

Quick follow-up: I am now in physical therapy and it helps, turns out, my right sacroiliac joint is almost seized up which apparently presses on or interacts with the iliac nerve on that side.
That apparently travels down my leg, making my calf muscles tighten which in turn makes my foot ache.
I‘m delighted to tell you that I’m in pain but in better pain.
I can move more and I think with enough PT i will get better.

Please learn proper wound care to help speed up your recovery process. The fact that you let a friction burn/ scrape scab over like that is very bad. You should be keeping it moist at all times to ensure faster and proper healing.

That aside, wtf did you do for the bruise to be that large? Did you fall exclusively on that arm and not on any of your other limbs?

Plastic surgery to close my chin twice

Fractured clavicle healed weird

Broken humerus, had surgery and a steel rod installed

Twisted both ankles simultaneously but I think I’m over that

Lost faith in humanity.

I think my elbow took the brunt of the fall but my shoulder definitely feels it too. I think my wheel slipped into the light rail track on the road, got stuck and threw me off.

I have a stepladder; I never met my real ladder—

—oh NOT that kind of broken.

40mph crash. Wheel got stuck in light rail track, and I got launched.

I saw this before going to the veledrome today. I had elbow padding on under the torso body armour as a result… hope it heals well over the next couple of weeks.

You’re not on blood thinners or asprin?
