Do it!! You won’t regret it

What are you gonna do with those cells??
I just got 165 of the exact same cells and debating making a 20s6p pack for my raceboard but idk.

I want a set so bad, I want to design a custom drop deck and utilize the flat profile version of the dualities.

I started just goofing around with a design but it’s not a serious design yet.

I’m debating what material to make it out of.

Maybe Carbon fiber or Aluminum I want it to be rigid enough to be acceptable for higher speeds but also capable of short track racing / general cruising.

Looks a lot like an MLR deck. Might be able to save yourself the trouble of fabrication (if that’s not something you’re looking forward to)

@tuckjohn I actually tried the MLR and I didn’t like it. Idk what it was but I felt like it was missing something. It kind of felt dead in a way. Maybe I needed more time on it. To be fair it’s one of the only drop deck designs I’ve been on. Maybe I just didn’t like how it felt it being a drop deck but idk. Just another idea I’m bouncing off the wall

I’m probably more interested in the fabrication than anything. I’d love to build a deck press and experiment with strange designs.

Going in a 12s6p barrel on dualities. So more of a fun rip around setup than a full track focused build.

Definitely gotta have one of those more relaxed boards.

Been working on building this cruiser for quite awhile but it’s so heavy I wish I put a smaller battery in it.

What size? Sorry derailing here but too curious not to ask lol

Im honestly thinking of doing this.
Getting a ton of 2x4s and makijg a deck press.

Track last night at Intro2Speed was great.
Found that my toeside turns improved with some somewhat uncomfortable shoe tightening. While not pleasant, i can now toeside turn more effectively. Even though my feet were screaming at trying to hold on. I’ll be sore tomorrow for sure.

Really had her ripping around the track. About halfway through the night I was able to hit full throttle while exiting a turn. Im sure i was at about 75-85% of full power but she still moved!

While our resident pro riders still leave me in the dust when it comes to acceleration im starting to keep up more.
I was chasing @tuckjohn on both of his decks. Which is always a fun challenge. I was even keeping up for a short time while he was on Ankle Wreacher. But only through some of his warm ups with the board.

Great night at track.
I think once i move up to 18s I’ll be able to keep up in the straights with other riders.
I was juuuuust getting the Novas in the back to break free a little on one of the turns but not consistently. That may have been a weight distribution thing too. Also a front binding will massively improve my turns, I can practical feel it.

tomorrow i can post a pic of how my shoes are tightened so that my feet don’t shift in my shoe. it may be how you have it already tho

Thought i was down on power or lost a P group.
So pulled everything apart and with the help of @tuckjohn and @HAIRYMANJACK i was able to test all the P groups.
Most were 4.02.
Three were at 4.04
And one was at 3.90. So found the culprit.
But since its essentially only 0.1 off, gonna keep running it.

Changed the motor amps to 95a per side. Up from 90a per side. Small change but its noticeable with the new 35% throttle curve.
Throttle curve was 15% before, which is strange because I could have sworn it was 20%.

Board absolutely has more pep now. Its not a rocket ship, but definitely has more on the lower end. This is super useful for passing cars through an intersection, and medium speeds on track.

Also looks like its short track season here in San Diego! Didnt grab any pics from Tuesday I2S but had a blast and made my legs complain.

Eventful day.
Went to hang with a @tuckjohn to get some help with a possible soldering issue.
We tore into the board and found a broken connection to my power button. And a possible weak connector on an XT90.
So he soldered the wires back to the button and that was good.
Then we cut the old XT90 off the DV6. And Tucker got that soldered back on.

What we both missed was that it was reversed polarity.

So of couse I put the board back together and turned it on.
And we got all the angry pixies fired up for a light show.

We tore the board back apart amid sparks and probably some molten nickel. Uncoupled the power from the battery and took a couple minutes to chill.
Then Tucker said oh fuck I know what I did. I didnt check if it was reversed!

The antispark switch was completely annihilated melted in half and partially vaporized. DV6 was dead.

So long story short I need a new battery and speed controller.

Tucker was kind enough to help fund some of the 18s6p battery order. And he bought me lunch!

As of like 10 minutes ago i ordered 116 P45B cells. I wanted to go tabless but i know P45Bs are good and like 100 bucks cheaper.

After we did the math looks like I won’t reach the absolutely max battery capacity for the 6P groups. So i likely wont hit the full 18+KW* of the battery which is fine. Its gonna haul ass either way.
