sure, but it’s not just the unity that shows this behavior.

But it’s the software in combo with the HW…

Not only unity

The issue does not happen on UnityFW
It does not happen on Vesc fw 4
It does not happen on Vesc fw 3.66
It does not happen on Vesc fw 3.65
It does not happen on Vesc fw 3.61
It does not happen on Vesc fw 3.103

It does happen on vesc fw 5.01
It does happen on vesc fw 5.02
It does happen on vesc fw 5.03

on 4 different motors
3 different vescs (i can test a 4th one if you want)
and on 2 different remotes.

I’m not sure how i can use this to fix my issue.

Did you only test it on the bench? It is a current controller and you need load.

Yes, as i’m not really comfortable running a setting that could launch me at full speed.

Did you watch the video?

To dig down to that it would be good to spin one wheel only with the standard detection.

Do you mean this as standard detection?
grafik

setup motor FOC, load default setting, run detection. Then do not change anything.
Then use keyboard keys to spin up the motor.

these are wrong again.

grafik

Activated the keyboard and used the current control

smooth without problem. Nothing else is touched, no input was configured or anything else. Duty cycle current limit start is at 1.00 as it’s the stock setting.

And if you now set it to 0.85?

same thing.

Smooth without the crackling.

If i were to use the remote it would come back

Try it.

at 0.85 and a remote it’s back

spikes are when the issue appears

now setting it back up to 1. (duty cycle is still at 0.95)

and it’s as smooth as it is with the keyboard control

Can you cheat the input wizard for me, so that 90% throttle is 100% throttle?

same result.

issue at 0.85 and no issue at 1

Full throttle on the trigger was set to 90%

Just to clarify 100% on the trigger should be 90% in the vesc tool or 90% trigger should be 100% on the vesc tool?

Edit: same result.

Now i’ve tried 100% throttle translating to 90% signal and 90% throttle translating to 100% signal.

Do you have another remote?
