You must supply it due to the GPL license and that has been mentioned to you a couple of times already, but I am not getting an E-Mail response from you and I cannot find it anywhere online.

I understand that the source code is completly irrelevant for most, but applications outside of esk8ing may call for adjustments to the code. Having this option is a big reason to buy a vesc based device. I feel like it is really unfair towards the buyer and benjamin to violate the license. It exists for a reason.

@YUTW123 it has disapeared now but on the D100S web page it was written that units shipped after the 1st of october had “phase filters removed to improve stability”.

My unit was shipped on the 26th of september… What kind of instability I have to fear?

Also, I’m confused because I believed that phase filter chipsets can not undergo more than 75V what explained Trampa VESC 75/300 have phase shunts and Trampa VESC 100/250 have battery shunts.

It’s a firmware change. You can disable phase filters before you run motor detection (motor cfg < FOC < Filters)

I’ve found the anwers :

The mk5 uses phase shunts, but phase filters can also be used on low side shunt designs. The Stormcore and SKP Solo both use phase filters with low side shunts. Phase filters - used for voltage sensing. Can be used on both phase and low side shunt designs Current filters - used for current sensing. Should only used on phase shunt designs.

Let’s stop using the phrase battery shunts. No VESCs use battery shunts. There are either phase shunts or low-side shunts. You can use either two or three phase or low side shunts. Phase shunts above 16S is difficult. 18S is about the max. Reason: The shunt amplifiers are not rated higher. INA240 can handle 18s but that is borderline and personally I would not operate it beyond 16S. That part is also unobtanium since ages. The only other alternative is the AD8418 and that part is also not easy to purchase in volumes. Each ESC needs 3 of these. So low side shunt designs are easier and cheaper to produce.
