General Questions Thread 2025

Try holding the brake for like a second or two.

Nothing happens؟

Something is weird then. Try change the mode to Full current and test if throttle backward does anything. Make sure you click write app whenever you change something.

I think I had my first ever remote signal disconnect today with a VX2. Maybe not, but I was with two other boards through a tightly knitted pavement against another building in town so I guess it’s possible, assuming the phenomenon is actually a real thing.

What timeout value for lost signal do fellas run? Defaults 1000ms, I set it to 500ms following the stack, but how low is too low in anyone’s experience? It’s the first time ever for me, so I’m not going to panick order a while bunch of pucks over it; before making the suggestion.

I wasn’t going fast, but the board dropped me off the back, spat the front DKP from the cup after accelerating into a building, spinning the hanger like the girls head in “The exorcist”, and then continued to behave perfectly normal for the rest of today after putting the truck back together.

Anyone tried these Omega HP belts?

Omega HP Synchronous Timing Belt - 5MHP, 5 mm Pitch, 340 mm Pitch Length, 15 mm Width, 68 Teeth, Aramid Reinforced Rubber Material

Trying to determine if the cost is worth it and if they’re stronger, stretch less.

Personally I’ve never had one but it’s what Radium use for their Mach One. They also have them on their website but the belt length is for the Mach One.

Anything that’s gonna fuck me up i can recover from usually if it’s in the 1/10 to 1/5th second range. I set mine to 150ms but i don’t have a lot of experience with these things - vibes only

Yeah, I’m in two minds. Because, if a disconnect happened at a constant speed and came back on line before the 1000ms was up, I wouldn’t even know it happened. I feel like most strange faults seem to make themselves known under acceleration though, or perhaps that’s not coincidental.

1000ms was enough time that the board could do some damage to ankles, windows, or itself if it got away. Perhaps I’ll try 80ms then, same as I use for fault recovery.

I’ve only just finished dealing with the car I left two knee sized dents in, after going over it’s bonnet in December. Turns out the owner of the car was the deputy principal for a boys high school that caters for the wealthy and privelegged, so this was an interesting experience.

How’s your workshop going? Any new progress?

The new 6495 motors have this 7th wire. What does it do, and where does it terminate?

My workshop is Constantly in chaos, working on a vacuum process for skinning decks and my shoulder injury is slowing things down. Trying to find a place to put everything away and i think im just gonna break down and get one of those harbor freight tool chests with all the drawers… im just cheap and don’t wanna spend the money. Probably gonna part out a board and slim my collection down to just the key players.

I want a halfway point between drop through and top mount on my sportster build so maybe custom base plates is my next adventure. I’ve got an idea for an adjustable base plate that will fit the cast Valkyrie trucks i picked up. Should be interesting as i think im gonna use them for the small build challenge.

Lol what the hell is this? April Fools maybe? XD

I assume the cables screened. If so, I’d connect them to my heat sink / esc casing. Is this what others would do? I don’t know.

I remember seeing that a few years ago already… Don’t remember seeing a single one of those in the wild though. I would guess it’s april fools, but since it’s not the first time I’m seeing it, idk

Supposedly they’re for static charge or something while riding. @Tony_Stark had a post about it somewhwere. Most of us just cover it with Tesa/electrical tape and tuck it away.

@Dinnye How do you like the slm steel gears? I wanted to make some gears with peek because they are quiet but the price of peek is crazy(400 per gear) .. So i am thinking about slm steel. How is the surface of the gears? Are they extremely loud?

Can I jump into this conversation to ask if lasercut Hardox 500 is ok to make gears from, and if you would be interest in some.

Edit: basically the same thing as AR500

I don’t know much about this, is it similar to slm steel?

I had a feeling it had something to do with static charge. Got it tucked away currently…

It’s real, red beard rode it at the damn. Just a marketing stunt though more or less I would imagine.

They should have removed the hub motors from their Jet board, if they wanted true believers.
